Hey senior boys! Do you have what it takes to be Mr. Mustang 2014? Signups will be posted in the counselors’ hallway starting Monday, January 14 through January 17.

Attention Students

This is just a reminder that any library books that were checked out, before the break are due now.  To avoid fines and fees, please either return or renew you library books this week.

Students who wish to bring a guest that does not attend Damonte Ranch High School to the Winter Ball on Saturday, January 18^th must fill out and return a guest pass by the end of the day on Wednesday, January 15th.   Forms are available in the Corral.

Hey Mustangs!  Do YOU think you have what it takes to be a leader? We are opening up the positions of Student Body President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the 2014-2015 school year. Elections will be held on February 19th! That’s coming up soon so if you’re interested, pick up YOUR election packet today! They are available in the office and will be due on Monday, January 27. (To be played 1/13/14 through 1/21/14)

Attention all students! Tickets for GLO will be going on sale THIS WEEK starting TODAY at LUNCH, in the counselors’ hallway. Pre-sold tickets are $12 and at the door they will go up to $15!

This is an important reminder that deposits for your Grad Night Trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain are due this Thursday, Dec. 19th.

Please turn in your $50 and deposit slip to Mrs. Aikin in the Career Center this week.  Remember seats are reserved on a first come first serve basis.

Congratulations to Danielle Park for making first alternative for the 2014 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship Program.

Juniors!  Are you interested in learning what it takes to be the best from the best?  The Chamber of Commerce 2014 Youth Leadership series is open for applications.  You must currently be a junior, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and meet some additional requirements.  If you’re interested, please stop by room 101 and get an application from Ms. Lombardi.  Completed applications are due Tuesday, December 17^th so don’t delay.  This is a fabulous opportunity!

The food drive that has been hosted by ROTC and FCA will be coming to an end on December 17^th.  Students should bring non-perishable food items to their freshman seminar or IC.  The freshman seminar or IC that brings in the most food will be treated to a pizza party the week after winter break.

LOST AND FOUND  If you have lost a coat, jacket or sweatshirt. Please come to the Corral and check the lost and found items.  Items that have not been claimed by December 20th will be donated to Goodwill.

Attention all you writers, poets and artists!  Entries for the literary magazine are slowly trickling in but we need your work to make this happen this year.   Please consider submitting your poetry, short stories, art work and even nonfiction pieces to the magazine for consideration.  The more pieces we have, the better the magazine.  The envelopes along with submission forms are in your English classrooms and the library.  Fill out a submission form and submit your work now!   

Also, any entries for the cover of Hoof Notes must be submitted by Friday before we leave for the holidays!  We’ve had several submitted already, but are hoping for more.  All you artists and graphic designers, please consider submitting for our cover this year!  Never think, I won’t win, because you have a chance and there’s a $50.00 gift certificate to Meadowood Mall along with the win!  See Ms. Servilican in room 214 for more information. 

Driver Education classes are offered at Damonte Ranch during the January intersession. The class is Monday-Thursday, January 6 - 9, 8 am - 3:30 pm. This class meets the 30-hour in the classroom requirement to receive a driver's license in Nevada for those under 18. The cost is $94. For more information or to register with a debit or credit card, call 829-9010.
