Attention Sophomores! This Friday at lunch in the theater there will be a Sophomore class meeting! We will be announcing next year’s officers and there will also be a PIZZA RAFFLE!

Jostens will be here TODAY, March 11^th, during lunch, by the office, delivering graduation announcement boxes.  Jostens will also accept class ring and graduation orders at this time.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors: Academy Information Day is Saturday, March 21^st at UNR’s Joe Crowley Student Union. Start time is 9 am – Noon. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about our nation’s service academies.

Seniors did you attend Brown Elementary School? Please stop by the Career Center to pick up the scholarship application. Remember I have the applications for Double Diamond and Pleasant Valley Elementary Schools as well.

Thursday, March 19^th during IC we will have DRHS Alumni students here for our Annual Alumni Speakers Panel. This is part of the “Life After High Series”. This event will take place during IC in the Theatre.

Attention Volleyball players:  open gyms will start next week in the big gym!  They will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm – 5pm beginning March 10 thru the end of the school year.  For more info check the volleyball website or see Coach Wallace in the bookkeeper’s office.

Hoof Notes is seeking writers to submit to the literary magazine.  If you have a piece and it fits into the category of poetry, prose or short story, dramatic literature, nonfiction or like to draw or design things, submit your work.  Pick up a submission form from Ms. Servilican in room 214 or from your English classroom.  As it said in Lemony Snicket, “If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting the rest of our lives.”  Submit your work now!

Photography club is meeting today – Tuesday – at lunch in room 145.  Come join us in planning what we want to do in photography club.  Photo club is new and were looking forward to seeing many new faces.

PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

Today is a “B” DaY

HSPE

High School Proficiency Exams (HSPE) are scheduled for March 2^nd  -5^th, and will begin at 8:00 a.m. on each day. The HSPE will be offered in Math, Reading, Writing & Science to any 11th & 12th grade students who have not already passed. Rosters and testing rooms will be posted Wednesday outside the counseling office.

·       Wednesday, March 4^th -- Writing

·       Thursday, March 5^th  – SCIENCE  (3hr Delayed Start/Classes begin at 11:15)

All 10^th graders will be taking the End of Course Exam in Science on Thursday, March 5^th from 8-11:15. Room assignments will be posted outside the counseling office on Friday.

3hr delay is only for 9^th graders and any 11^th and 12^th graders that have passed the science proficiency exam. All 10^th graders are required to be here to test.
