PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

Today is an “A” DAY

Important Testing Information:

End of Course Exams

End of Course Exams (EOC’s) are scheduled for May 4^th & 5^th and May 11^th & 12^th.  Testing will begin at 8:00 a.m. on each day.  The EOC’s will be offered in English Language Arts and Math.  The ELA I and ELA II will be administered to all 10^th grade students enrolled in Eng. 3-4.  Math I and Math II will be administered to any 9^th and/or 10^th graders enrolled in Alg.1/Geometry or higher this year or in previous years.  Rosters and testing rooms will be posted outside the counseling office.

·        Monday, May 4^th   – ELA I                      (3hr Delayed Start/Regular Classes begin at 11:15)

·        Tuesday, May 5^th  – ELA II                        (3hr Delayed Start/Regular Classes begin at 11:15)

·        Monday, May 11^th --  Math I                  (3hr Delayed Start/Regular Classes begin at 11:15)

·        Tuesday, May 12^th  – Math II                  (3hr Delayed Start/Regular Classes begin at 11:15)

3hr delay is only for non-testers. 

Advanced Placement

Please show up 15 min. prior to scheduled exam start time. You need to have your ID, 2 #2 pencils and a blue or black ink pen.  Don’t forget, if you have any remaining balance of AP fees to get those taken care of now.

Junior Boys! The application deadline is fast approaching for this year’s Nevada Boy’s State. This is a premier civic leadership conference that is held in the summer for junior boys only. If you see yourself as a future leader and want to meet and talk to other future leaders and hear from present and past leaders in local and state government, check out www.nevadaboysstate.org. The cost for the conference is minimal and the experience is a maximum opportunity for your future. The deadline to apply is May 6^th so check it out soon! Nevada Boys State!

Cheer Tryouts for the 2015-2016 season begin May 20. Tryout packets are available in the office and the deadline is May 19.

International Club will be selling delicious DESSERTS for a variety of prices.  There will be more food on sale.  So, AMIGOS BRING your DINERO and join us for Cinco de Mayo!

Junior Girls! The application deadline is coming up for this year’s Nevada Girl’s State. This is a leadership opportunity for junior girls to learn the practice and affairs of government. This leadership conference is held in the summer for junior girls only. If you see yourself as a future leader and contributing citizen, check out www.nevadagirlsstate.net  There are scholarships to help with the cost and this conference will add to your confidence in your future. Registration deadline is May 1^st so check it out soon. Nevada Girls State!

ATTENTION NHS Inductees attending the Induction Ceremony on May 1^st, at 6:30 pm, in the theater.  Please, be there 15 minutes before the time, remember the dress code and encourage your parents and friends to attend.  This is a day to celebrate your achievements.

HOLA, AMIGOS!!!!!  Cinco de Mayo is coming tomorrow!  Are you ready for some YUMMY FOOD, MUSIC, DANCING and FUN??  Then we will see you in the courtyard and counselor hall tomorrow - the first of May - during lunch.  Hispanic Club will be selling a combo of 2 tacos, rice and beans plus a choice of beverages for 5 dollars.  Horchata will be sold separately for the price of $1.50. Damonte come to the Aces Ballpark for a late night pancake breakfast on Thursday April 30^th.  Choose to attend the all you can eat session from 5-6pm / 7-8pm / 9-10pm or late late eating from 11-12pm.  Tickets are $10 for students with ID and $20 for parents.  All proceeds benefit the DISCOVERY MUSEUM AND THE MRD FOUNDATION.

You can get a table and represent the country of your choice.  Artifacts, pictures, food (you can offer samples or sell food) are just a few of the possibilities.  All the DRHS clubs are welcome to join us!  Let’s have fun at 5 de Mayo!
