The Student Store is now OPEN every day at lunch!  Come on in and pick up some great snacks like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Capri Suns, Hot Cheetos and Rice Krispie Treats!

Hola Amigos!  Hispanic Club will meet this Thursday, September 14th in room 232 at lunch time. Bring your lunch and friends to start a new year with fun and interesting activities. See you there!

Congratulations to Atlas Mendez for earning 2nd place in Costume Quick Change on Saturday at our region's Tech Olympics and Thespian Leadership Conference!

The DRHS a cappella choir will be singing at a fundraiser for the Jessica Ann Faber Foundation on Saturday, September 16, at 6:30 at beautiful Bartley Ranch.  The foundation raises money in memory of Jessica, who was killed by a drunk driver, and the money goes to supporting arts students across our area.  Tickets are only $15, and it will be a great night of music by 3 high schools, a jazz big band and more!  Please come out for this great concert!   (Run September 12 – 15)

 

Attention Mustangs:

Did you miss picture day? Do you just want to retake your picture? Today, Wednesday, September 13th is your final chance to have your photo taken for your student ID and yearbook. LifeTouch will be in the Gym Foyer for picture day makeups and retakes so don’t forget!

Submit your art, writing, or photos to the LiterARTure Magazine!  Folders are found in the theater, the art room, or you nearest English class; you just have to fill out a submission form.  Or...you can join the Magazine and help create this year's Magazine!  Meetings are Wednesdays at lunch in Ms. Hellen’s room 116; we hope to see you there!

 

Homecoming is just around the bend! All clubs and sport teams interested in making a float this year for the parade, can pick up a float packet in the office. They are due to Room 101 by September 15th.             (Run September 11th - 14th)

 

Attention Juniors.  Any student wishing to take the PSAT and National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test will need to register with the book keeper no later Friday September 29th.  The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on October 11th at 8am.  The fee to take the exam for juniors is $16.  (Please keep this is the loop for September.)

 

LUNCHES ARE BACK  Foods 2 will be selling lunches every other Friday this year.  Please direct your questions to Mrs. Thiede in room 117.  Thank you.  The Menu is as follows:

Student Council will be having a fundraiser for the Hurricane Harvey victims in Houston, Texas.  We will have a table set up to accept donations in the counselor’s hall on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday, during lunch.  Those who donate more than 5 dollars will receive a T-Shirt and those who donate more than 10 will be invited to a picnic hosted by Student Council.  Come and donate to the cause and help those in need.  (Air:  9/8/15, 9/11/15, 9/12/15)

Families lost everything.

The water has receded, but the survivors lives have changed forever.

Please join JAG Damonte as we collect our change and donate to help the survivors of Hurricane Harvey this coming Friday.

This Friday, during announcements, we will hold a "Miracle Minute."

During this minute, we will pass a bag or bucket around each classroom.  

Please bring money to donate to help our friends in Texas reclaim their lives.  

No amount is too small.

All donations will go directly to the American Red Cross and their efforts in Houston.
