Attention Students!

Basketball Courtcoming Week is upon us! Support our boys and girls basketball team with the following spirit days.

 

Starting off with our 80’s Workout on Monday. Wear your sweatbands and bright neon colors.

 

Tuesday is the Sock Hop. Grab your leather jackets and your poodle skirts.

 

Dress for the Rodeo on Wednesday. Break out your boots and flannel.

 

Thursday is hat day. Bring a dollar to the corral for your wristband to wear a hat for the day.

 

Friday is Damonte Day. Come decked out in your blue & green spirit gear!   (Air January 25th - January 30^th)

 

All students interested in being on SWIM team this year, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, January 29^th in room 111 during lunch.

 

50 bucks!!  For you if you win the Blind Date with a Book raffle.  First, reading changes lives so it’s a win win.  Second, who couldn’t use a $50 gift card from amazon?  Here’s what you do: visit the library, check out a book from the Blind Date with a Book display, read, return, enter the raffle. Repeat, repeat, repeat.  The raffle drawing will be right before Spring Break, so you have lots to time to read and read and read some more!  See you at the library!

 

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for!  Dancing With The Staff is here!!  Wednesday, January, 30 at 7 p.m. in the DRHS Theater.  Admission is $9 per seat and the doors will open at 6:30 p.m.  Be there early to get your seat to see Mr. Bell groove it out, Mr. Schreiner and his partner hip hop til they don’t stop and see the reining dance champion, Mr. Fournier defend his title.  You will also see several other teachers shake it on stage.  Your paid admission earns you a voting ticket to decide this year’s dance champ.  It is going to be an amazing night of fun and entertainment! 

 

Attention Seniors, there will be a TMCC Accuplacer testing in the Career Center Wednesday, January 30^th at 1 pm.  Please stop by the Career Center to sign up and reserve your seat.

 

Attention, fellow mustangs, would you and a group of friends be interested in creating silly and fun memories in our Damonte’s Got Moves Assembly on Friday, February 1st.  You and your group will have 15 seconds to shine.  We are looking for 12 groups of 2 or more dancers to participate.  This assembly does not require any experience in dance.  You can pick 3, 15 second clips from songs any genre or time period.  I’m the counselor’s hallway, there will sign up sheets.  All songs and choreography must be school appropriate.  (Run through January 18 - January 28, 2019)

SPRING SPORTS BEGIN FEB. 23, 2019-BASEBALL, SOFTBALL, BOYS GOLF, TRACK & FIELD & SWIM  All Athletes (even if cleared for a fall or winter sport) must Register Online at www.registermyathlete.com for the spring season.  This program only works with Firefox or Google Chrome.  ALL Online Registration for spring sports must be completed by February 8, 2019.

Attention Seniors!!  Senior sweatshirts will be pre-sold at lunch today.  The cost will be $40 for XXL and $35 for all other sizes.  Pre-order forms will be available in the office or at the pre-order table at lunch.  All proceeds made will help fund activities like Senior sunset!  The last day to pre-order a sweatshirt is January 25th.  For any questions or concerns, please contact Senior class president Samuel Kreins at Sjkreins@gmail.com.

What better way to start the second semester than by being prepared to audition for the spring musical?  Come join us in the theatre for THREE audition workshops, beginning this Thursday!  More information is on the bulletin board outside the theatre, or talk to Mr. Hearn!  Auditions are coming soon, so don't miss your opportunity to be in this fun show set in the 1950's, with songs and dances that are TERRIFIC!

 

Have you tried Grandma Thiede’s Mac and Cheese with a green side salad?  It truly is a DRHS staple.  Our next sale is coming up Friday, January 25^th    at the beginning of lunch.  Not only do you get some amazing mac n cheese, you will also get a nutrient rich green salad (ranch dressing optional at no extra charge).
