There will be a wrestling
meeting for anyone who plans to
wrestle this year in the Career Center Thursday, October 24th, at
Lunch.
There
will be a mandatory wrestling meeting for all wrestlers to be
weight certified for the 2013-2014 season on Monday, October 28th in the
wrestling room after school.
Good
Food for a Great Cause: Senior Fundraiser Friday,
October 25th at Qdoba on Damonte Ranch Parkway from 2:30 to 11PM 20%
of sales goes to the Senior Class.
The Violet Richardson Award Honoring
Young Women for Volunteer Action - Are you a young woman between the
ages of 14 and 17 who exhibits leadership qualities as a volunteer in your
community or school? Who sees challenges
instead of obstacles? Hope instead
of despair? If you are or know a young
woman who believes in the power of volunteer action, then you/she may be
eligible for a Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award. Stop by the
Career Center for more information.
The English Department would like to
congratulate the following students for being the September students of the
month: Juan Sanchez-Silva, Alexandra Pollock, Emma Farr, Christian
Pilley, Vanessa Ferrara-Ipatzi, Michael Reeves and Alex Chavez. Your
enthusiasm and work ethic are commendable in our English classes here at
Damonte Ranch High School. Please view their pictures and words of
recognition in the display case between rooms 214 and 216 in the upstairs
hallway.
NCWIT
Award - Deadline Oct. 31!
The
University of Nevada, Reno is an affiliate member of NCWIT (National Center for
Women & Information Technology) which is a non-profit community to increase women's participation in
technology and computing. They sponsor the NCWIT Award for “Aspirations in Computing”. The
award acknowledges the computing achievements and aspirations of young women,
and generates visibility for women’s participation in computing-related
pursuits.

process?
Do
you need help in your math class?
Your family can hire an approved peer tutor for $10 per hour. If you
would like to see the list of available peer tutors, please see your math
teacher or your counselor.
WINTER SPORTS CLEARANCE (BOYS/GIRLS BASKETBALL,
WRESTLING & SKI) is OCTOBER 7th through NOVEMBER 1st.
Athletic Clearance Packets can be picked up in the Main Office. If you
have played a Fall Sport and are interested in signing up for a Winter Sport,
go to the main office and sign the clipboard at the Athletic Counter.
