Do you drive to school??

Do you park your car on campus??

The deadline for purchasing your student parking permit is November 16.

Parking permit applications can be picked up in the Corral. They are $5 and must be displayed on the vehicle in the front windshield.

Any cars parked on campus after November 16th that do not have a parking permit may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Students can park in the north and south parking lots. Cars parked in any other lot will be notified and asked to move their car immediately.

 

Congratulations to the Lady Mustangs Cross Country team on their 5th Straight League Championship last Friday!

Good Luck to Both our Girls and Boys Varsity teams this coming Friday @ the Regionals Championships!

*** Both boys and girls need to finish in the top three teams in order to advance on to the state meet.  Please come support the team if you can!

       

Damonte's speech & debate team continued their success this past weekend at Wooster.

Jenni Whitbeck - 4th place Impromptu Speaking, 1st place Senior Lincoln Douglas debate and 1st place Senior LD Speaker

David Barrientos -- 2nd place Impromptu Speaking

Maiya Drake -- 3rd place Novice LD, and 9th place novice LD speaker

Dalin Moore -- 2nd place Open Congress

Kaylee Nguyen (new en) -- 3rd place Open Congress

Ronald Du -- 4th place Open Congress

 

The team meets on Thursdays after school in Room 208.  New members can join at any time, or just come to a meeting if interested.  

 

Lost and Found

Students, are you missing a water bottle?  Clothing?  Shoes?  Glasses?  Be sure to check out the Lost and Found table at the Corral.

 

Blue IC Passes

Be sure you are carrying a blue IC Pass if you travel to another class during IC.  Remember, you are expected to remain in the class you have a blue IC pass to-until the end of IC.     

 

Off Campus Students

Off Campus Students are expected to be off campus or in the library.  

 

 

DRHS PAC BAND

Saturday, October 27th, the band is hosting the 9th annual Damonte Marching Invitational, starting at 3:45pm.  DRHS will be hosting 5 bands from Northern Nevada and there will be an awesome snack bar!  Come support your school and join the fun.

 

Do you want to glo? Well now is your chance! This year’s Glo Dance is Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 from 7:00PM-10:00PM. Pre-sold tickets are being sold during lunch in the Counselors hallway starting October 29th. Pre-sold tickets are $12. Tickets at the door are $15. COME GLO WITH US!!  Run October 22nd through October 29.

And don’t forget!  Guest passes for the GLO DANCE are due on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 to the corral. You can get a guest pass in the Counselors Hallway.

 

Beginning October 16 and ending October 27th, Damonte Ranch Freshman Seminars, Sophomore Seminars, and Instructional Center classes will be participating in the “Feed the Hungry” food drive though the Salvation Army.  This is a great opportunity to take civic action and help those in our community that are less fortunate.  Classes will compete to bring in the most non-perishable food items and the top three classes will receive either a pizza, donut or cupcake party on Friday, November 2nd.   

 

Students-If you are not participating in a supervised activity after school, you must leave the building by 2:45 pm.  Thank you for helping to keep our school safe.

 

Have you ever wanted to dance in the Austrian mountains like Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music, listen to the Austrian classical concert, wander through the spooky mysteries of Germany’s Black Forrest, see the actual castle used as a model for Cinderella’s castle at Disneyland, experience the profound sadness of a concentration camp, or take an amazing gondola ride through the Swiss Alps?  For more information, see Mr. Kaplan in room 206 for more information on the Spring Break European trip.  

 

Attention Students:

Are you interested in playing a Winter Sport, Boys/Girls Basketball, Wrestling or Ski?  Clearance is starting now.  You must register online at www.registermyathlete.com, by October 31st.

HEY JUNIORS, HABLAS ESPAÑOL?  The University of Nevada, Reno is looking for bilingual students to be part of the CBESS Program.  You will explore careers in healthcare, spend 3 weeks living on the UNR campus during the summer, visit hospitals and clinics, have a mentor, and experience an internship all for free!  Please stop by the Career Center if you are interested. Deadline is November 16th.
