PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

FALL BREAK-October 14-18, 2013

Thank you to all the students who volunteered for this year’s Dancing With the Staff.  If you were assigned a staff member to dance with, there will be a meet and greet this Friday at lunch in the dance room.  Please be there at the beginning of lunch to meet your staff member and choreographers.  See you there!!

The Miss Reno, Miss Sparks, Miss Washoe County & Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program are looking for contestants.  If you are interested in finding out more about this program you can attend meeting at Jenny’s Studio of Dance every Sunday from 1-5pm.  Or contact Shirley Lunsford at 851-2015.

Hey Mustangs, Damonte will be hosting a blood drive Thursday, October 10th.  Sign-ups will continue until Wednesday the 9th in the counselor's hallway during lunch.  If you miss us at lunch, come to room 101 during IC to get your spot.  You must be at least 16 to sign up.  Sign up now because spots fill up quickly!  Please remember to have a hearty breakfast on Thursday, if you plan to donate blood.

TODAY IS A “B” DAY

PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

There will be a ski team meeting Wednesday, Oct 9^th, in room 228 at lunch.  Come get information for this year’s ski team.

Hey Damonte Ranch… are you interested in taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, ASVAB?  The ASVAB is the most widely used multiple aptitude test battery in the world, assesses a student’s ability to learn new skills and is a predictor of success in training and education programs.  The Career Center will be hosting a test before the holiday break and would like those students who are interested to stop by and sign up with Mrs. Aikin.  This test is for juniors and seniors.

Congratulations the Damonte Mustangs that were accepted into Washoe County School District’s Honor Choir:  Cassandra Bovee, Anna Engel, Isaac Hickox-Young, bass section leader (highest score in all of Washoe County for bass singers), Brianna Hillaire, Helena Middleton, Joyce Pasillas, Mike Lyndon Rosario, Grace Tibben-Lembke, and Molly Willoughby.

Langston Hughes said, “I like to work, read, learn and understand life.”  So why not do all these things and attend the Literary Club meeting in Ms. Servilican’s room, # 214, this Thursday at lunch.  Now that we have a name for the literary magazine, we’ll be planning our agenda for the rest of the year and deciding on officers.  Come join us as we plan the literary magazine for Damonte Ranch High School!

Hey Mustangs, Damonte will be hosting a blood drive next Thursday, October 10th.  Sign ups begin today, Friday the 4^th, in the counselor's hallway during lunch and will continue until Wednesday the 9th.  If you miss us at lunch, come to room 101 during IC to get your spot.  You must be at least 16 to sign up.  Sign up now because spots fill up super fast!

PICTURE RETAKE DAY IS Tuesday, October 1^st, in the Gym Foyer.  If you need to retake your recent school picture or you did not get your picture taken on Picture Day, please stop by the gym foyer on Tuesday, October 1^st.  Picture packets are available in the Main Office.

Today is Damonte Day!  There’s truly no place like home, so support your house colors and put on your Mustang gear!  See you at homecoming game tonight, in the Stadium at 7 pm.

Hey Damonte!  Are you looking for a good way to give to your community and yourself?  Well, we know just the solution.  This Friday, September 27th, NHS will be selling various baked goods at the entry of the Homecoming football game.  All proceeds will go to benefit Sierra Vista Elementary School.  So bring your school spirit and bring your generosity!  We would greatly appreciate your support!
