Please join us for the 3^rd annual DRHS Lunch Choir concert this FRIDAY, May 25, at 3 or 7 pm in the theatre.  It’s free!  You’ll love hearing your classmates in Damonte’s a cappella choir! Lunch Choir has been named one of the top 2 choirs in our district for the last 3 years and has been invited to participate in the Disneyland Candlelight processional for three years as well.  Come out and hear them on Friday, at 3 or 7.

 

Do you wish you could dunk your favorite teacher, coach, or administrator in a tank of water?  Well, your chance has arrived!  FCA is selling tickets for the upcoming dunk tank this week, during lunch on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  Tickets are $3 for 5 balls in advance of the dunk tank later this week, or they are $1 each on the day of the dunk tank.

 

Attention Students taking AP Spanish language and Culture next year, there will be a meeting on May 24^th in Ms. DPR’s room (230) during lunch.  It is important that you attend if you are enrolled or plan to enroll in AP Spanish next year.

Thank you to all the audience members who attended our musical, Sister Act, over the last couple of weekends!  We have more drama for you this Friday, May 18, at 2:45.  Come by the theatre after school to see a seated reading an original play, a verbatim theatre piece called “This Isn’t a Drill.” Written by Intermediate and Advanced students with a guest playwright, we’re excited to bring to our stage this unique style of theatre based entirely on interviews and primary sources, all word-for-word accounts of, and reactions to, protests.  The performance will last about one hour.  See you there—it’s FREE!

Attention all Girls interested in playing golf next season - There’s a meeting scheduled for Thursday at Lunch in Mr. Fournier’s room W251.  We’ll discuss the upcoming season and ways to get prepared when the golf season begins in August.  Again, there’s a girls golf meeting Thursday at lunch in Mr. Fournier’s room W251.

Students, please tell your parents that the next Booster meeting is 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 in the DRHS library.  Officer nominations will be held and goals will be discussed.  We hope your parents can attend.

Have you ever been to Food Truck Friday at Idlewild Park in Reno? Did you know that they have 35 local trucks during this big event that starts on Friday, May 18^th?  Let’s get this kicked off with a Food Truck Friday Celebration Damonte Ranch Style.  Friday, May 11^th during lunch, the Foods 3 class will be in the back of the school with their 7 mock food trucks to serve you.  From street tacos to chicken tenders, smoothies to ice cream sandwiches… come enjoy the kick off to our nice weather.  Again that is Friday, May 11^th at lunch.

 

Attention seniors!  Do you sing, dance, or have another special talent?  Show it off at the senior assembly!  Auditions will be held at lunch on Wednesday, May 9th and Friday, May 11th in the main gym.  Sign up outside of Room 101 or with Ms. Kenyon in the office.  Performances can be up to 2 minutes long.  Now’s your time to shine and represent the Class of 2018!
