Literary Club members!  We are meeting this Friday in Ms. Servilican’s room.  Please be prompt and ready to progress with planning the literary magazine.   (December 1, 2 & 3)

The Damonte Ranch NJROTC Program is asking students to donate cans to the Annual District Canned Food Drive Competition which ends December 3rd.  We ask that you please check the expiration date and make sure your items are non-perishable.  Our program has won this competition twice consecutively and we would like to win again this year!  Please help the needy and support NJROTC by donating cans this holiday season.

DRHS Speech and Debate Team is hosting a Barnes & Noble Bookfair Saturday December 6^th. This is a wonderful fundraiser for the team and just in time for everyone’s holiday shopping. We will be out at the Barnes and Noble on South Virginia St. all day performing and offering free gift wrapping. If you would rather shop online and still support the team. You can do so by entering our bookfair ID number #114 at the checkout.

A Driver Education class will be offered at Damonte during winter break, January 5-8.  This 30-hour class fulfills the classroom requirement for a driver's license in Nevada if you are under 18.  The cost is $94.  Please call 829-9010 for more information and to register.

There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, November 26, 27 & 28, 2014 for Thanksgiving Break.  Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

Hey Damonte!  Are you interested in joining our bowling team???  We compete against the other high schools in Reno and Carson.  The season starts in December and runs through mid-March.  All levels of expertise are encouraged as we have great coaches that will help you (even if you’ve only ever bowled with bumpers!!)  If you would like more information, please put your name and info down on the bookkeepers door (Ms. Wallace) so we can contact you.

If you are still interested in taking the ASVAB, there will be a second opportunity to do so.  Please see Mrs. Aikin please stop by the Career Center to sign up and for additional details.

Congratulations to Sebastian Lopez for being one of the State Winners of the 2014 Wendy's High School Heisman Program. Each State Winner will be receiving a silver medal and a $50 Wendy's gift card. While Sebastian did not get selected to move on for a chance to become one of the 12 National Finalists, this is still a great honor and accomplishment.  DRHS is very proud of Sebastian, please join me in this celebration…

Attention Seniors:

There will be a Senior Class Meeting on December 10^th.  And this Thursday and Friday the staff play will be performed in the theater.  Thursday the play starts at 7:00 pm and Friday’s performance will be at 5:30 pm (because of the football games.)  Any Senior in attendance of the play can keep their ticket and write their name on the back to enter themselves into another free Yearbook Raffle!  Turn in the tickets to Ms. Aikin in the Career Center on Monday November 17th to enter.  Finally, if you haven’t picked up your packet from Josten’s, packets will be located in the Counseling Hall, Front Office and the Career Center. If you haven’t ordered your cap and gown, you need to do so in order to walk at graduation!

Congratulations to our DRHS Varsity Football Team for making it into the D1 Playoffs…In support of this success, the Staff Play Friday night’s performance has been moved to 5:30 pm instead of 7:00 pm.  The Thursday night performance is still 7:00 pm.  So come out to support this scholarship fundraiser for the Class of 2015…afterwards go out to the stadium to support our football team!!  GO MUSTANGS
