votes are in Damonte! Your 2014-2015 student council officers have been
determined. Class of 2015, your President is Kai Kitson, your Vice President is
Mercedes Anderson, your secretary is Jorden Kreie and your treasurer is Eric Mena.
Class of 2016, Emma Curtis is your president, Ali Thorton is your Vice
President, Pam Eustaquio is your secretary and Jessica Harris is your
treasurer. For the Class of 2017 we have Savanna Cilonis as president, Ariana
McConnell as Vice President, Astha Mehta as secretary and Emily Oberg as
treasurer. Congratulations to these officers, we know they are looking forward
to serving you for the 2014-2015 school year!

There will be a UNR Greek Life presentation in the Career Center
Friday May 2nd during IC.
If you need an IC pass to attend please come and see Mrs. Aikin. Also, if you did not receive a Graduation
Information Packet through your Government classes on Monday and Tuesday,
please stop by the Career Center to pick one up.
Support
DRHS on Friday by enjoying a great meal at Qdoba this Friday. Just stop
by between 2:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Let the
cashier know you want Damonte Ranch High School to receive fundraising
credit for your purchase. This is a delicious way to raise money for
DRHS and you can either dine in or take out! Qdoba Mexican
Grill will donate 20% of your purchase to Damonte and all money raised
will go to support the 3 A's - academics, arts and athletics. See you at

help us finalize writing plans for the magazine. We need your help!

Our last blood drive of the year is coming up this Friday. Today is your last
chance to sign up. Spots are filling
quickly so sign up today and save a life.
Also, if you are planning on donating tomorrow don't forgot to eat a
hearty breakfast and bring some form of ID with you.
Amigos! 5 de Mayo is coming!!! Hispanic Club is preparing exciting
activities for the whole school. As part of the traditional lunch celebration,
the club is going to host the World Cultures’ Event. If you would like to participate, contact
Mrs. Long (Room 217) or Mrs. Gutierrez (Room 202). You can get a table and represent the country
of your choice. Artifacts, pictures and food
(you can offer samples or sell food) are just a few of the possibilities. All the DRHS clubs are welcome to join

The University of
Nevada, Las Vegas
will host the 2014 Summer Transportation Institute (STI) Program for high
school participants from July 14, 2014 – July 28, 2014. This will be a
residential program where the participants will reside on the UNLV campus and
participate in transportation related activities. The purpose of the STI
Program is to create awareness and stimulate interest in high school students
to take full advantage of the opportunities that exist in the transportation
industry.
Be in the 10th or 11th grade for
the 2014-2015 school year.
Have completed or be qualified to enroll in Algebra for the
2014-2015 school year.
Have cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
(minimum).
Have an interest in engineering, science, transportation, or
technology-related careers.
