2:00 and 7:00, and then the set comes down and the costumes will be put

for the Fall Semester. Please see Mrs.

Open gym for girls basketball is Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:30. If you
have any questions please see Coach Schmidt in room 219.
Attention
all freshman, sophomores and juniors! Open gym for volleyball is Tuesday and
Thursday from now until June 5th. Everyone who is interested
in next year’s volleyball season is welcome to join us! Volleyball has
several summer activities going on this year, come find out all about it.

Hey
Seniors--Got Talent? At the senior assembly you will have the opportunity to
sing, dance or give a speech. Whatever your talent is, we want to see it.
Auditions to perform at the assembly will take place Monday, May 26th to
Wednesday May 28th. Sign up in room 101 for an audition slot.
Driver Education classes will be
offered at Damonte during the summer, June
17-20 and July 21-24. This 30-hour class fulfills the classroom requirement for
a driver's license in Nevada if you are under 18. The cost is $94. Please call
829-9010 for more information and to register.
Kitchen
is hiring 4-5 student workers. $7.25 hour M-F 1-2 hours a day. Plus free
breakfast and Lunch when either or both are worked. See Manager during breakfast 7:30-7:55
Are
you solid in your math skills? DRHS is looking for math peer tutors
for next year in Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2. Students who are math
peer tutors earn a full elective credit, get the satisfaction of helping other
students, and have something impressive to add to a college transcript or job
resume. Peer tutors are needed every period of the day, including during
IC. Students must have earned an A or B in the course they are tutoring
for. Please see Mrs. Ault in room 122 for more information or to sign up.
Are
you having trouble getting your Health or Computer Literacy credit because
there are other electives you want to take? Damonte Ranch High School will be
offering Health and Computer Lit this summer. The classes will run for three
weeks and you will need to select one or the other. See your counselor for
dates and times, and see if you can fit one in this summer. Space is limited,
so please check calendar and sign up with the bookkeeper as soon as possible.
The cost is $100.
Cheerleading
tryouts for the 2014-2015 season are May
20-22. Tryout packets are available in
the office. The deadline is May
19. Pick one up today and get the information you need to be ready. (Please run twice a week through May 19.)
Attentions seniors: with the Senior Scholarship Award Night fast approaching on Wednesday May 21st, I want
to make sure not to leave anyone out. Please
stop by the Career Center before Friday May 9th and tell me of your
scholarship awards. Letters of
invitations to the scholarship award night will be going out to seniors on May
9th.

The University of
Nevada, Las Vegas
will host the 2014 Summer Transportation Institute (STI) Program for high
school participants from July 14, 2014 – July 28, 2014. This will be a
residential program where the participants will reside on the UNLV campus and
participate in transportation related activities. The purpose of the STI
Program is to create awareness and stimulate interest in high school students
to take full advantage of the opportunities that exist in the transportation
industry.
Be in the 10th or 11th grade for
the 2014-2015 school year.
Have completed or be qualified to enroll in Algebra for the
2014-2015 school year.
Have cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
(minimum).
Have an interest in engineering, science, transportation, or
technology-related careers.
