Monday, May 26, 2014, in observance of Memorial Day.
Damonte
Ranch High School
will be offering Health and Computer Lit this summer. If you are
interested in getting one of those out of the way, please sign up right away.
The classes will run for only three weeks, please see your counselor for dates
and times. Space is limited, so sign up with the bookkeeper as soon as
possible. The cost is $100.

Do you need to strengthen your transcript for college? Are you good at
math? ? Then sign up to be a peer tutor! See any math teacher

Tickets
for the Great Gatsby End of the Year dance will be on sale next week. Tickets will be
sold all week at lunch in the Counselor’s Hallway for $12. The price will
increase $15 at the door. Just a reminder that you do not have to have a
date to attend this dance. Also, 1920’s attire is not required. Everyone is welcome!
Run May 27th to May 28th:
Attention Seniors, it’s your last chance to perform for your school. At the
senior assembly you will have the opportunity to sing, dance or give a speech.
Whatever your talent is, we want to see it. Auditions to perform at the
assembly will take place Monday May 26th to Wednesday May 28th.

YOU HAVE LOST ANY ITEMS at school, please stop by the Corral and look in the Lost and
Found. All Lost and Found items will be
donated to charity on June 13.

Graduating Seniors, this is your last chance to sign up for the Grad

Run May 22nd-May 29th It's
your lucky day Damonte--well lucky week because June 2nd-6th
and Monday is Roll Outta Bed Monday. All grades wear sweats and lazy clothes to
school.
*Nothing says the early
bird special like “Senior” Citizen Tuesday. Break out the suspenders and the
floral prints and show off your 70+ side.
*And before we send our
seniors off, we’ll embrace their futures by wearing career outfits or college
gear.
*And Thursday goes out
to our “Super Seniors”—the kind with the tights. Break out the cape and show
off your super hero side.
*And don’t miss out on
the best day of all—Damonte Friday. It’s your last chance of the year to deck
out in the blue and green, and be sure to wear it to the assembly that
afternoon.”

Attention National Honor Society members if you are missing hours there is a great opportunity this

Students who are taking AP
Spanish Language and Culture next year,
need to come to a meeting on May 27th during Lunch in Ms. De Pedro
Robles’s room 230. It is very important that you attend this meeting because
you will receive information related with the class.
Attention
Students: As the year is winding down, we would like to
remind you that all library books are due no later than May 30th. Mrs. Stanton and Mrs. McRoberts would like to
thank you for your support of the library, and we hope you have a great
summer. See you next year.
The
English Department would like to congratulate the following students
for being their May students of the month: Ashley Medina-Gil, Thomas
Chubb, Rosie Behesti, Eric Simonson, Ryan Salivar, Katie Featherstone, Jesley
Camara and Heather Wiberg. We are proud of the fact that these students
exemplify excellence in our English classrooms and thank them for their work
ethic and positive attitudes. Way to go!
Sophomores!
If you signed up or are interested in taking AP Language and Composition next
year, there will be a mandatory meeting during IC in the Career Center on
Tuesday, May 27th. This important meeting will give you some
insight into the expectations of the class and also information about the
summer assignment. Please plan on attending and learning about this
important college level English class. Again, Tuesday, May 27th
in the Career Center! If you have any questions see Ms. Servilican in
room 214.

Open gym for girls basketball is Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:30. If you
have any questions please see Coach Schmidt in room 219.
Attention
all freshman, sophomores and juniors! Open gym for volleyball is Tuesday and
Thursday from now until June 5th. Everyone who is interested
in next year’s volleyball season is welcome to join us! Volleyball has
several summer activities going on this year, come find out all about it.

Driver Education classes will be
offered at Damonte during the summer, June
17-20 and July 21-24. This 30-hour class fulfills the classroom requirement for
a driver's license in Nevada if you are under 18. The cost is $94. Please call
829-9010 for more information and to register.
Kitchen
is hiring 4-5 student workers. $7.25 hour M-F 1-2 hours a day. Plus free
breakfast and Lunch when either or both are worked. See Manager during breakfast 7:30-7:55
