PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE
Today is a “B” DaY
MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR! For the 1st annual
Damonte Ranch Hunger Games---A BATTLE OF THE SEXES.
In honor of the games we will be having a
spirit week, February 2nd through 6th.
Start off the week by honoring Panem’s leader
by dressing up as the great President Snow, or wear all white.
Are you on Team Peeta? Tuesday release your
inner baker and steal an apron from your mom to become the next Peeta Melark.
If you are not feeling like a master chef, wear a hat for $1. Remember to buy a
wristband from the corral.
Wednesday dress up as the high class citizens
of the capitol wear your finest jewelry and your most elegant dress or suit. If
you are not feeling so sophisticated for this black tie event, just wear black.
Enter the arena on Tribute Thursday, dress up
as a tribute or wear camo as you compete in the Hunger Games.
Let the games begin on Friday with the assembly
as girls deck out in pink and boys wear blue head to toe. Bring your game face
to compete in the Battle of the Sexes Assembly (Jan 29-30)
Hey sports fans! You can win an authentic Tom
Brady number 12 jersey. All you have to do is buy a yearbook between now
and February’s Friday the 13th. You will then be automatically
entered to win. Buy your yearbook from the bookkeeper or online at www.yearbookforever.com.
The
night you have all been waiting for!! Dancing With the Staff will be on Friday at
7 p.m. in the theater. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is open
so get there early. Ticket prices are $8 per seat. There will be a
silent auction and raffle and a bake sale during intermission. Plus,
you get to watch our awesome administration bring back the boy bands of the
90’s. This show is a lot of fun so please join us on Friday.

Yearbook even if you aren't on DRHS sports team? Yearbook is looking
for students who have hobbies outside of school. If you participate in
lacrosse, rodeo, archery, shooting, wakeboarding, photography, musicians or

DRHS Seniors! Yearbook has extended the deadline for
buying senior ads to Monday February 2nd. If you have not bought your senior ad
you need to NOW. Please visit yearbookforever.com to submit an ad online OR
bring your Seniors ad's text, pictures, and payment to room 208 during 3rd
period or IC. Contact pnohrden@washoeschools.net with questions.

Seniors! If you have not submitted your senior quote for the
Yearbook, you need to AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Yearbook will not take senior
quotes after Friday January 30th. Please bring your quote to room 208

What’s your favorite subject? Come to AP night and
find out how you can sign up to take the AP class in your favorite
subject! Bring your parents on Thursday February 5th at
6pm. You and your parents will meet with the AP teachers, learn more
about the AP program and discover how your participation in an AP class will
benefit you! Join me! Thursday, Feb 5th from 6-7:30pm in
the theater and on Main Street. Don’t forget to bring your parents.

Rotary Club is sponsoring a Global Gala Essay Contest. Award is $500.00
Deadline is February 27th. Stop by the Career Center for additional
information.
The
Literary Club
is looking for submissions for our 2nd annual literary magazine Hoof
Notes. There are submission forms in all the English classrooms and in
the library if you’re interested in submitting a short story, poem, drama, or
piece of art work. This year, like last year, there will also be prizes
given for winning submissions. Last year the top prizes awarded were
$100.00 gift cards. We are also
looking for a new cover this year. If you would like to submit a
cover it should have the title of the magazine, Hoof Notes, and in some way
represent our school. See Ms. Servilican in Room 214 for further
information. Cover submissions should be in outstanding! The winner
will be awarded a $100.00 gift card and all submissions are due by February 13,
2015. Submit your cover now.
