Seniors who will
be taking Proficiency Exams next week should check the board next to the Counseling
Office to find the locations of your tests.
Monday, October 19-Math; Tuesday, October 20-Reading; Wednesday, October
21-Writing; Thursday, October 22-Science.
Be in your testing location no later than 8 am.

NHS is putting again our pumpkin decorating contest
this year! In order to participate you must:

Donate a minimum of $5
per IC/FS –you can always donate more!!
·
Choose a
charity/non-profit organization
Pumpkins will be dropped off on Monday October 19th
to IC/Fs and collected on Thursday- October 22nd. All proceeds will
go to the charity/non-profit entered with the winning pumpkin. Pumpkins will be
judged at the carnival evening Friday October 23rd. Please, respond
to this email if your IC/FS wants to participate in this event NOT later than
October 15th.

Main Street the CLS team will be selling World Series Dogs. Delicious hot dog wrapped in a biscuit with
cheese and all the fixes just $2.00 a dog!!

How
would you like to see your choice of teacher duct taped to a wall? For just a dollar you
can vote from a list of teachers to be taped. The two teachers with the most
votes will be our lucky winners. We have teachers such as Ms. Jackson, Mr.
Johnston, Mr. Capelin, Asst. Principal Bell, and Asst. Principal Finnigan as
well as others. So come to the main hall at lunch to cast your vote.
BSU
will be having a lunch meeting on Friday, October 16 in room 211 at
lunch. If you are interested in meeting new people, serving your
community and spreading the message of tolerance, please come to our meeting
and find out what BSU is all about. Again, BSU will meet Friday at lunch
in room 211.
Driver's
Education will be offered here over Fall Break. Classes usually
fill up, so be sure to sign up early. Flyers with signup info are
available in the office or call Community Education at 829-9010.
Josten’s will be
at DRHS Monday &
Tuesday, October 19th & 20th, accepting class ring
and graduation orders, from lunch through the end of school, in the Counselor’s
Hallway. Extra packets are located in
the office.

The
Damonte Ranch Marksman Ship Team is holding tryouts on October 19th-22nd. Everyone is welcome to come. There are open spots on JV and Varsity squads.

Damonte Ranch NJROTC cadets there will be a mass formation this Friday 10/16
in the stadium during I.C. Please be there.
Damonte
Ranch is offering free ASVAB assessment testing on November 4th.
The ASVAB is a free test offered to help you know where your strengths lie in
specific career fields. The ASVAB is also used by the government and military
for career field placement. The test will be given at 12:00 on November 4th.
Students that are interested in taking the test can sign up in the Career
Center to reserve a spot. Spots are limited so sign up today!
LOOKING
FOR A FUN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY? HELP IS NEEDED FOR A “THOMAS THE TRAIN EVENT”
OVER FALL BREAK IN VIRGINIA CITY. The V & T Railroad is in need of
volunteers the weekend of Oct 30, Oct 31 and Nov 1.

(THERE IS A CHOICE OF 3 SHIFTs, all day or half day.
Volunteers will help with children and their families as they take a 25 minute
train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine. Volunteers will help in the
Imagination Station Caboose, the Coloring Caboose, and help serve lunch in the
P.B. & J Pullman car. Or they will help with other Thomas-themed
activities including motor car rides, and golf at Sudor
Village. Also, there will be a goat petting zoo, bean bag throw, i
pad station, and assisting a photographer. Volunteers will receive a free
shirt and lunch will be provided. MUST ENJOY CHILDREN. Call Carole if

Recently
numerous bikes have been stolen from the school bike racks, each bike was locked
up with a cable style bike lock which was cut. Anyone with information
may contact Secret Witness at 329.6666 or School Police. If you are
currently riding your bike to school, you may want to consider investing in a
U-shape bike lock.

Seniors,
you have one month left to make your appointment with Lifetouch and take your
Senior Portraits! Remember, if you don’t make an appointment with Lifetouch
before November 19th then your memorable Senior Portrait will NOT be
in the Yearbook! Lifetouch has extended hours for Fall Break, Monday through

Attention
students: You are wanted!! For what, you
ask? DANCING WITH THE STAFF!!! That’s right, Dancing With the Staff! This event is a big fundraiser for your dance
team and we need you to participate. We
are looking for students to partner up with a teacher or staff member to become
this year’s dance champion. If you are interested in signing up, please
tell any dance team member or Coach Roybal, or sign up with Mrs. Kenyon in the
front office. We are looking for boys and girls to participate and the
show is scheduled for January, 28. You
won’t want to miss out on this super fun event!!! Thank You and see you on the dance floor. (Run until 10/16)

application for the 2016 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship.
There are two $5,000.00 scholarships
available along with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. If you are
