Mustangs, the DRHS Boosters will be having a bowling fundraiser at Grand Sierra Resort on Saturday, April 14^th from 1:00pm-5:00pm.  Join the fun, get a team of your friends together and support Damonte.  The DRHS Boosters help to provide necessary school resources as well as many items on teacher wish lists.

Students, beginning April 16 through May 25^th DRHS is having a No Dress Code Violations Contest.  Follow the dress code and earn an Otter Pop Party with the Principal in the courtyard.  Please see posted fliers for more details.  (Daily announcements for the week of April 9-13, 2018)

 

Over this past weekend, the Damonte Speech & Debate Team traveled to Las Vegas for the State Tournament.  Kobe Kitson is the State Champion in Original Oratory and took 4th in Lincoln Douglas Debate.  Jade Whitbeck was the only student from Northern Nevada to go into Semis and then Finals of Congress and took 7th.  Those two students, combined with the efforts of Jenni Whitbeck, David Barrientos, and Ronald Du, WON the STATE SWEEPSTAKES CHAMPIONSHIP for the FIRST TIME EVER for DAMONTE.  In the 20+ years this award has been given out, Northern Schools have only won a handful of times, and now it is ours!  The Team will be competing at Districts this week to determine who goes to Nationals.

Mustangs!  Please be sure to check the No Tardy list of eligible students posted in front of the Counseling Office to see if you qualified to attend the Popcorn with the Principal party today (Thursday) March 22, 2018 during IC.    Amazingly, 678 Mustangs qualified. 

-Mr. Bell is looking forwarding to celebrating your Third Quarter-No Tardy-success with you!

-Be sure to report to your IC class first so your teacher can take attendance, then come to the cafeteria to celebrate.

-Bring all your belongings with you to the cafeteria, so you can leave from the cafeteria to go home when the 2:30pm bell rings.

-If for some reason you are not on the list and you believe you had No Tardies for third quarter, please let Ms. Matos know.

 

Today (Thursday) March 22, 2018 DRHS will host the Alumni Panel for Freshmen during IC in the theatre.  Be sure to report to your IC class for attendance first and walk to the theatre with your class.

Grandma Thiede’s mac and cheese with a green side salad is back.  Foods 2 class will be making it fresh and serving it for you on Thursday, March 15^th.  This dish goes fast so prepay ($3 donation) with Mrs. Thiede to reserve your dish or pay at the door.  Once again, Grandma Thiede’s Mac and Cheese served on THURSDAY March 15^th during lunch in the foods room.

 

Track and Field season is here!!  If you are interested in track and field, it's not too late to join the team!  Practices are Monday-Friday from 3:15-5:30.  Please see Mrs. Daniels in the office for the athletic clearance process.  All athletes welcome!

Female DRHS students:  Are you interested in building your conference and empowerment as a young woman?  A group from UNR called ABLE Women is sponsoring the event Queen in You on April 7^th.  A representative from this group will be at DRHS on Friday, March 9^th during lunch.  If you are interested in being involved in this event or just in getting more information, please visit their table during lunch on Friday, March 9^th in Hausauer Hall.   (Friday (3/2) and also next Mon – Thurs (3/5 – 3/8)

 

Our “Read and Grow Rich” gig is going strong!  There is still time to get in some amazing reading and be entered in the $50 Amazon gift card drawing.  Keep on keeping on!  Visit the library to find out more.

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2018:  Seniors at graduation we play a video with your senior picture and your baby picture for your friends and family to enjoy.  Submit your baby picture to drhsbabypic@damonteranchhs.com   Deadline for pictures to be received in March 17^th.
