Safety

Damonte Ranch High School is committed to school safety. If your student hears about a possible
threat or impending school incident, please have them immediately report it
to school administration to ensure school staff is aware of it. Please tell your student to refrain from
posting the information on social media, as this creates rumors and
panic. Remember, your student’s
responsible actions can help keep students safe and they can remain
anonymous.
The WCSD provides video surveillance on school campus’ as well as on
each school bus to help keep students safe.
Schools are required to practice a monthly emergency drill. The best way for students to help during
an emergency is to be where they are expected to be and follow the
emergency procedures they practice.
Monthly, DRHS practices one of the following drills:

Fire Evacuation Drills teach students how to appropriately evacuate
the building and where to report to.
·
A Code Yellow, securing perimeter doors, is utilized to prevent the
occurrence of a major incident when conditions indicate a higher than
normal threat level is present NEAR campus.
·
A Code Red lockdown is utilized when an actual crisis situation or
impending threat has occurred on school campus (or across the street/near
campus).
·
A Code Blue is utilized for a medical emergency. A trained Code Blue team responds to
medical emergencies.
Students have
already practiced a fire drill, earthquake drill, code red drill and a code
blue drill this school year. Safety
is always our primary concern!

Any
girls interested in playing golf next year. There is an informational meeting in W251 at
lunch on Wednesday. We’ll discuss spring and summer workouts and tryouts
when school begins again in August. The
meeting is Wednesday at lunch in Mr. Fournier’s room which is W251. (Run Monday-Wednesday.)
Students with No Tardies during third quarter are invited to have an Ice Cream Bar with the Principal on Wednesday,
March 20th-during lunch-in the Courtyard. So far, more than 550
students qualify. Be sure to check the list of eligible students that
will be posted in the main hallway by Tuesday.

March 19th)
Are
you missing something dear to you? Did you
lose something here at school? The
Corral may have your stuff in Lost and Found. We have everything from water bottles,
watches, clothes and glasses.
Please
stop by to see the clothes table or See School Police for your lost personal
items. Anything not claimed after March
22, will be donated to those in need. Thank you.
Do
you know what you are doing and where you are going after high school? Damonte Ranch will
be offering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test as a resource
and career exploration tool to help guide you. The ASVAB is free and
tests you in everything from math and science down to mechanics and electronics
to help you find out what areas your strengths and talents lie. Once
graded you will be given a breakdown of all your scores and an explanation of
what they mean. The test is offered to all sophomores through seniors and
can be taken multiple times. Come down to the career center and sign
up. The test will be given Wednesday, March 20.
