Student Safety ~From the Corral   Damonte Ranch High School is committed to school safety.  If your student hears about a possible threat or impending school incident, please have them immediately report it to school administration to ensure school staff is aware of it.  Please tell your student to refrain from posting the information on social media, as this creates rumors and panic.  Remember, your student’s responsible actions can help keep students safe and they can remain anonymous.    The WCSD provides video surveillance on school campus’ as well as on each school bus to help keep students safe.          Schools are required to practice a monthly emergency drill.  The best way for students to help during an emergency is to be where they are expected to be and follow the emergency procedures they practice.  Monthly, DRHS practices one of the following drills:   ·         Fire Evacuation Drills teach students how to appropriately evacuate the building and where to report to. ·         A Code Yellow, securing perimeter doors, is utilized to prevent the occurrence of a major incident when conditions indicate a higher than normal threat level is present NEAR campus. ·         A Code Red lockdown is utilized when an actual crisis situation or impending threat has occurred on school campus (or across the street/near campus). ·         A Code Blue is utilized for a medical emergency.  A trained Code Blue team responds to medical emergencies. Students have already practiced a fire drill, earthquake drill, code red drill and a code blue drill this school year.  Safety is always our primary concern!

Boys 4 x 800 Relay---3rd place---Luca Bucciachio, Jacob Mandichak, Connor Van Cott, Nick Rodie ***New School Record! The old school record had stood since 2009!

Grace Harris Hammond--3rd place in the 200

Leah Chavez--3rd place in the Pole Vault

Carley Legenbauer--2nd place in the 3200

Marena Middleton --3rd place in the 3200

Hello all Mustangs!  If you have a LIBRARY book checked out, it must be returned by May 24^th which is right around the corner!  Please, please ensure all of your LIBRARY books are returned to the library no later than May 24^th, the Friday before Memorial Day weekend.  Also, please resolve any fines and fees ASAP to make everyone’s lives easier.  We appreciate you!!

Hey Damonte, do you enjoy fairy tales, zombies, and weird rom-coms?  Then the Annual Staff Play and Night of Theatre is for you!  On Tuesday, May 14th and Wednesday, May 15th, come watch students perform hilarious comedies and your teachers have a blast onstage in performance!  Tickets are $5 and are on sale during lunch on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week!  Please talk to Mr. Denney or Mr. Hearn if you have any questions!  All proceeds go to DRHS Scholarships.

Thank you to the great audiences we had over the weekend for the closing of The Pajama Game!  Have you thought about auditioning for a show next year?  Well, your opportunity is SOON!  Auditions for our fall 2019 plays, Men on Boats and The Light Burns Blue, are May 23 and 24!  See the bulletin board outside the theatre for more information and an audition form!  Ask Mr. Hearn if you have questions.

Student Activity Participation Remember, you must complete your assigned discipline consequence by the day before an event to be admitted.  Students who have not completed their assigned consequence and/or students confirmed truant from school the day of the event will not be admitted to school events or activities. 

Remember, students who engage in a major discipline will not be admitted to school dances, sporting events, or any school activity/event for the semester.  However, privileges can be earned back upon completion of ten hours of school service.  (Please announce on Monday, Tuesday, May 14th; Wednesday, May 15^th; and Thursday, May 16^th.)

 

Fourth Quarter Challenge:  No Missing Assignments

Celebration with the Principal on Tuesday, June 4^th during lunch in the courtyard.  Have No Missing Assignments May 13^th-31^st and you will qualify for treats with Mr. Bell.  (Please announce on Tuesday, May 14^th; Wednesday, May 15^th; Thursday, May 16th; and Friday, May 17th.)
