Safety
~From the Corral
Damonte Ranch High School is committed to school safety. If your student hears about a possible
threat or impending school incident, please have them immediately report it
to school administration to ensure school staff is aware of it. Please tell your student to refrain from
posting the information on social media, as this creates rumors and
panic. Remember, your student’s
responsible actions can help keep students safe and they can remain
anonymous.
The WCSD provides video surveillance on school campus’ as well as on
each school bus to help keep students safe.
Schools are required to practice a monthly emergency drill. The best way for students to help during
an emergency is to be where they are expected to be and follow the
emergency procedures they practice.
Monthly, DRHS practices one of the following drills:

Fire Evacuation Drills teach students how to appropriately evacuate
the building and where to report to.
·
A Code Yellow, securing perimeter doors, is utilized to prevent the
occurrence of a major incident when conditions indicate a higher than
normal threat level is present NEAR campus.
·
A Code Red lockdown is utilized when an actual crisis situation or
impending threat has occurred on school campus (or across the street/near
campus).
·
A Code Blue is utilized for a medical emergency. A trained Code Blue team responds to
medical emergencies.
Students have
already practiced a fire drill, earthquake drill, code red drill and a code
blue drill this school year. Safety
is always our primary concern!

TODAY IS AN “A” DAY
Seniors, if you have not yet taken your Senior Picture, your make-up day is Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 14, before school, during lunch, or on your off period. If you don't have an off period Wednesday, please speak to your teacher about going.
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors, your picture days are Thursday and Friday, August 15 & 16, this week. They will take place in your English class. Please dress and act appropriately.
Speech & Debate will have a meet and
greet DURING LUNCH on Thursday, August
15th in the CAREER CENTER. If you are interested in joining the team,
stop by for some FREE PIZZA and meet the coach and other team members.
The team's first regular meeting will be after school that same day in room
208.
Attention
seniors! Senior
sunrise will be on August 23rd, 2019 at 5:30am in the football stadium. Make
sure to bring blankets, games, and $2 to purchase your senior lantern.
Breakfast will be provided. come start your senior year the best way you
can.
Attention
seniors! Order
forms for Senior Shirts are due this Friday, August 16. Make sure to turn them
in ASAP so you can have your shirt by senior sunrise. Order forms can be
picked up at the office, bookkeeper, career center or on the walls.
