Student Safety

Damonte Ranch High School is committed to school safety.  If your student hears about a possible threat or impending school incident, please have them immediately report it to school administration to ensure school staff is aware of it.  Please tell your student to refrain from posting the information on social media, as this creates rumors and panic.  Remember, your student’s responsible actions can help keep students safe and they can remain anonymous. 
 
The WCSD provides video surveillance on school campus’ as well as on each school bus to help keep students safe.       
 
Schools are required to practice a monthly emergency drill.  The best way for students to help during an emergency is to be where they are expected to be and follow the emergency procedures they practice.  Monthly, DRHS practices one of the following drills:
 
·         Fire Evacuation Drills teach students how to appropriately evacuate the building and where to report to.
·         A Code Yellow, securing perimeter doors, is utilized to prevent the occurrence of a major incident when conditions indicate a higher than normal threat level is present NEAR campus.
·         A Code Red lockdown is utilized when an actual crisis situation or impending threat has occurred on school campus (or across the street/near campus).
·         A Code Blue is utilized for a medical emergency.  A trained Code Blue team responds to medical emergencies.
Students have already practiced a fire drill, earthquake drill, code red drill and a code blue drill this school year.  Safety is always our primary concern!

TODAY IS AN “A” DAY

 

Enjoy Delicious food in a fun atmosphere along with your family and friends while earning funds in support of:  Damonte Ranch High School Dollars for Scholars Fundraiser!  Tonight, December 3, from 3-9 pm at BJ’s at the Summit. With each flyer presented during this Fundraising Event, BJ’s will donate 20% of Food and Soft Beverage Sales to Dollars for Scholars.  Digital or printed flyer must be presented to server.

 

DONUT DAY IS BACK!

During Lunch on Friday December 6th in the Student Store and at the cart in the hall.

Just a $1.00 donation will get you a yummy, gooey, delicious donut.

Get there early, because we ALWAYS sell out!

 

¡Hola amigos! Christmas is around the corner and it is a perfect time to say Merry Christmas to a friend or that special someone by sending them a Christmas Gram.  Hispanic Club will be selling a nice Christmas Gram on Friday, December 6th and Friday, December 13th only in front of the Career Center at lunch time.  Please provide the eighth period room number for delivery.  Deliveries will be made on Monday, December 16th at 8*.  Donations are $5.00 per Christmas gram.

Have you ever thought about a career in healthcare?  Are you Spanish-English Bilingual?  Here is an opportunity to explore healthcare careers, live on campus at UNR for three weeks during the summer at no cost.  Interested?  Stop by the Career Center for more information and the link to the application.

Hey Mustangs- looking for community service hours? On January 31st Poulakidas Elementary School will be hosting a family dance. Volunteers are needed to help serve food from
