PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

 

TODAY is aN “A” DAY

 

Attention Seniors—your panorama picture has been rescheduled for this Thursday (tomorrow) at lunch.  You will be released from your 5th period classes 5 minutes before the lunch bell to take your picture at the start of lunch.  If you would like to purchase the photo, please pick an order form from your English Teacher or from the front office.

 

this week we are celebrating National Random Acts of Kindness Week-  

Wednesday- wear "pink"- and "come and sit by me"

Thursday- wear "rainbow" colors- we are inclusive.

Friday- wear blue and green- we are all a part of the "herd"

It's not too late to sign up for our blood drive on March 4th.  We will have a table set up at lunch in the counselor’s hallway.  If you have already signed up, please come by during lunch and get your hall pass and permission slip (if 16).  If lunch doesn't work, then stop by Mrs. Norton's room- 226.

The Damonte Speech & Debate Team had their last regular season tournament in Spring Creek this past weekend and cleaned up on awards:  

 

David Barrientos - 1st place Lincoln Douglas debate, 4th top LD speaker, 2nd place Senior Informative

Kaylee Nguyen - 5th place Senior Informative, 3rd place Public Forum debate, 2nd top PF speaker

Mathew Petersen - 3rd place Novice Storytelling

Maranda Templeton - 3rd place Novice Informative, 3rd place Public Forum debate

Marina Vallejo - 2nd place Novice Informative

 

Damonte Ranch TEAM for the season:

 

First Place Small Schools (based on size of team, not size of school)

Second Place Informative (against ALL other northern schools)

Second Place Impromptu (against ALL other northern schools)

 

Our next tournament is STATE in Las Vegas in March.

Need a little pocket money? The kitchen has 3 positions available for 3 reliable and dependable students to work. Pay is $8 per hour plus free meal for the shift/shifts worked, Monday thru Friday

Prom tickets are on sale for all juniors and seniors.  Cost is $40 per person or $75 per couple.  You can buy them at lunch OR online  at www.washoeschools.net/drhs   Guest passes are available in the corral or hanging up in counselor hallway.  (Run through 2/28/20)

Hey Mustangs on Wednesday March 4th Damonte will be hosting the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, ASVAB.  This is a multiple-choice test that helps you identify which Army jobs (Military Occupational Specialties) would be best for you.  Sign up for this test is in the Career Center.

Attention Mustang Junior Girls…are you interested in attending Nevada Girls State?  Nevada Girls State is a week-long leadership program for outstanding young women who have just completed their Junior year in high school.  It is presented by the American Legion Auxiliary.  It is the week of June 21-27, 2020 and the application deadline is June 15, 2020.  For more information www.NevadaGirlsState.net.
