Class of 2019 elections are right around the corner: don't miss your chance to be President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, or a Representative. Pick up your application in room 101 or the office. Packets are due this Friday August 21st. Email Student Body President Alex Pollock at stuco_president@damonteranchhs.com with any questions, she can also be found in room 101 during lunch and IC.  Air August 18-19

 

There will be a Literary Club meeting this Friday during lunch in Room 214, Ms. Servilican’s room.  Please come and help us as we look to introduce last year’s literary magazine. 

 

Girls soccer tryouts this Tuesday at the soccer practice fields 3-4:30/5 pm.

 

Don't forget the first Drama Club meeting in the theatre at lunch today!  Bring your food and we'll see you there!

 

 

What is the Coffee Shop? It’s the coolest, hippest place on campus every Thursday at lunch in room 104.  We talk about contemporary issues and share poetry and music.  It’s just cool. Optional attire, a black beret and turtleneck.  Don’t be square. See you there. Bring your brain. Bring a poem. Bring your soul. Bring your own coffee.

We'll have some treats at our first meeting and you'll learn more about this internationally recognized extra-curricular. Seniors I now have the hard copy application for the 2016 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship.

There are two $5,000.00 scholarships available along with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. If you are interested stop by the Career Center or checkout the website www.ussenateyouth.org.

Speech and Debate Meet and Greet…

Are you interested is communicating competitively?  If so come meet the DRHS Speech and Debate team Thursday August 13^th during lunch time in the Career Center.  Get to know the team and learn more about debate.

Students don't miss out on the fall productions this year--that's right, plural!  Instead of one fall show with open auditions for the entire school, we have TWO that will run in rotation in November!  Our pre-audition workshops always make students feel more prepared to do their best, and this year that will be no different!  Come to the theatre after school to check out the two plays, Almost, Maine, and Hearts Like Fists!  You're going to love what we've got planned!

c.     Come to the Career Center before school, at lunch or after school for help from Mrs. Jacobson or Mrs. Aikin.

At the beginning of next year, we will work with you on learning to use your new OneDrive.

The yearbooks are here.  If you purchased a copy, please pick it up before school and at lunch on Monday at the Career Center.

Attention sophomores planning to take AP Language and Composition next year.  Please stop by Ms. Servilican’s room on Friday at lunch or after school to pick up a copy of the summer assignment.  Her room # is 214.  Again, pick up a copy of your summer assignment for AP Language and Composition. 

Students!  Be a part of the Damonte Ranch Mustang Scholarship legacy!  During the Senior assembly there will be a mad minute.  This is an opportunity for you to contribute extra change to future scholarships for Mustang Students!  You never know the scholarship could go to you!!

Seniors! It’s been a long year but it’s finally time for the sun to set on this chapter of your life.  Come celebrate Senior Sunset with your class Friday, June 5^th at the Baseball field. We will be there from 5pm until the sun sets.  Remember to bring things like balls, Frisbees and games.  There will be a special surprise there so make sure you go!

Seniors, get your yearbooks early.  Come to Senior Sunset this Friday at 5:30 on the baseball field and pick up your paid-for yearbook at the gate.  Otherwise, you’ll have to wait to pick up your yearbook Monday when they are distributed to everybody else.  This will give you a head start on collecting autographs from your friends. 

Students who are signed up for AP Calculus for next year need to attend a lunch meeting on Friday, June 5^th during lunch in room 122.

Culinary Arts will be selling Grandma Thiede’s Mac ‘n Cheese, with no salad, for $3 on Friday, June 5.
