PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

Today is aN “A” DaY

Hello Mustangs! This Friday the Varsity boys, Varsity girls and JV girls are all playing at Wooster High School. At these games, you have an amazing opportunity to support a great cause.  Wooster High School is running a No Kid Hungry campaign!  How can you help end child hunger?  Buy a shirt for $5 during lunch Wednesday through Friday in the counselor’s hallway.  Oh yeah…WEAR your shirt to the games and you get in free!  This is for the @Wooster games this Friday only.  And if you’d like, perishable donations will be accepted at the gate.  Shirts will also be sold at the gate.  Hope to see you there, Damonte.

the International Club will meet on Friday, January 31, at lunch in room 232.  We will have a guest speaker who will be talking about Southeast Asia.  We’ll see you there!

ATTENTION SENIORS:  Did you attend Pleasant Valley Elementary school?  The Career Center now has the application for the Pleasant Valley Elementary school scholarship.  Deadline is March 24th.  Also, if your parent(s) are teachers for the WCSD and belong to Washoe Educators Association (WEA) there are four scholarships opportunities for you.  Please stop in the Career Center and see Mrs. Aikin.

Seniors...Don't miss out on a Fun-Filled Grad Trip to Magic Mountain in Valencia, California!  The trip includes chartered bus transportation, admission into the park, breakfast, lunch and dinner, dancing to a DJ and much, much more!  The cost of the trip is $150.  Space is very limited!  To reserve your seat send in your $50 nonrefundable deposit to Mrs. Aikin in the Career Center ASAP.

The Literary Club would like to congratulate freshman Erin Moyer as the winner of our cover for Hoof Notes this semester.  She is the lucky winner of a $50.00 gift card to Meadowood Mall and can pick up her prize from Ms. Servilican in room 214.  Congratulations Erin and thanks for a great cover that will highlight our magazine in May!

The Literary Club would also like to encourage all students to keep those poems, short stories, non-fiction pieces and artwork coming!  We are looking for many more submissions.  Thank you to those of you who’ve already submitted your work.  Remember, envelopes for submission are in all the English classes and in the library.  As Stephen King said, “If you want to be a writer, you must do two things:  read a lot and write a lot.”
