PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

Are
you ready for Prom, Damonte?! The Harry Potter themed Prom will be held
on March 21st at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center from 8-11
PM. Tickets will be sold March 16th-March 20th in the Counselor’s
hallway. They are $45 for one, $80 for a couple, and $50 for one at the
door. Also, don’t forget to send your Promposals to @DRHS_Promposals2015
on Instagram for a chance to win two free tickets! We look forward to
seeing you there, Damonte!
ATTENTION SENIORS:
You should have received your Grad. Night Disneyland
information packet in your Government class on Thursday,
March 12th. Deadline for your deposit is
Friday March 27th to Mrs. Aikin in the Career Center. There are extra packets in the Career Center.
Wednesday March 18th is our scheduled day for
the Senior Class photo, please where your
senior class tee shirt. You will be
dismissed early from your 5th period class.
Are you interested in participating in your graduation
ceremony? Stop by the Career Center to sign up to
audition for either a speech or musical performance. Seniors only please.
Congratulations
to all the terrific performers in Friday night’s Talent Show! Audience
members were wowed by the high caliber of the diverse talent! Give a
shout out to third place winner Steven Franzen, 2nd place winner
Jonah McFadden, and 1st place winner Thomas Chubb . . . otherwise
known as “Sweet T.” Thanks to all who came on Friday and cheered on the
performers!

Juniors!
Would you rather sit in your IC and do homework or go to the Junior Class
Meeting on Friday, March 20th? I think the answer is obvious. See you there for
announcements, games, and more! Talk to your IC teacher about attending.
Attention NHS Candidates 2014-2015
If you received a letter you are informed about a
mandatory Informative Meeting on March 17th during lunch time in
room 230 (Ms. De Pedro Robles’s room). In this meeting you will receive
information related to the duties and responsibilities of being a member of the
Damonte Ranch NHS. We hope to see you there!! GO NHS MUSTANGS!!!

Junior Class of 2016, on Tuesday, March 17, Lifetouch will have a booth set up in
the main hallway near the career center during Lunch with information on your
upcoming Senior Pictures! They will also be looking for Models if you are
interested or have any questions please stop by.
Attention Sophomores and Juniors: Academy Information Day is Saturday, March 21st
at UNR’s Joe Crowley Student Union. Start time is 9 am – Noon. This is an
exciting opportunity to learn about our nation’s service academies.
Seniors did you attend Brown Elementary
School? Please stop by the Career Center to
pick up the scholarship application. Remember I have the applications for
Double Diamond and Pleasant Valley Elementary Schools as well.

during IC we will have DRHS Alumni students here for our Annual Alumni Speakers Panel. This is part of
the “Life After High Series”. This event will take place during IC in the
Theatre.
Attention
Volleyball players: open gyms have begun in the big gym! They
will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm – 5pm beginning March 10 thru the
end of the school year. For more info check the volleyball website or see
Coach Wallace in the bookkeeper’s office.

Notes is seeking writers to submit to the literary magazine. If you have a
piece and it fits into the category of poetry, prose or short story, dramatic
literature, nonfiction or like to draw or design things, submit your
work. Pick up a submission form from Ms. Servilican in room 214 or from
your English classroom. As it said in Lemony Snicket, “If we wait until
we’re ready, we’ll be waiting the rest of our lives.” Submit your work
now!

A Driver Education class will be offered at Damonte Ranch during spring break, April 6-9. This 30-hour class fulfills the classroom requirement for a driver's license in Nevada if you are under 18. The cost is $94. For more information, pick up a flier at your school's counselors office or call 829-9010 for more information and to register.
