Mustangs!
Have you ever watched an assembly and thought to yourself, "Wow,
I wish I could be an MC!" If so, StuCo is looking for
YOU! Students who aren't afraid of the spotlight and are willing to show
off their amazing speaking abilities are encouraged to audition as an MC
for the upcoming Homecoming Assembly. Auditions will be held August 24th
during lunch in Mr. Pence's room 121. Sign up sheets will be posted
outside room 121 and room 101. We can't wait to see you there!
Beginning
this Friday,
8/21, Environmental Club will be collecting recycling at the beginning of 2nd
period. Please put your recycling
outside of your classroom. Also,
Environmental Club meets each Wednesday, at lunch, in room 206, Mr. Kaplan’s
room.
Would
you like to help other students in math and earn some money for doing this?
Students who are interested in being a paid peer tutor outside of school hours

Attention Seniors: Planning on taking the
ACT?
ACT test deadline Friday August 21st
for the September 12th test date.
Did you know . . .
- The ACT is the
only college entrance exam with a September test date—the earliest testing
opportunity for the school year.
- A student's ACT
score can be used for applying to ANY US college or
university, including Ivy League institutions and other highly selective
schools.
- Not all colleges
and universities require a writing test for admission—the ACT writing test
is optional, saving students time and money.
- The ACT test
score is based on the number of correct answers, with no points deducted
for guessing.
Register for
the September 12 test date at www.actstudent.org. The deadline to register is
Friday, August 21.*
There
will be a Literary Club meeting this Friday during lunch in Room 214, Ms.
Servilican’s room. Please come and help us as we look to introduce last
year’s literary magazine.

dance has been moved to later in the year. Save the date for December 11th so you can come glow at GLO!
Damonte, it’s that time of year again…..PICTURE DAY!!
· Picture day will be held
on Tuesday August 25th and Wednesday the 26th during your
English class.
· Teachers you can take
your picture during your prep, lunch or after school till 3:15pm
· If you wish to purchase
pictures, there will be forms and flyers in the office.
The
first Mystery Club meeting is no mystery. It will be held Thursday, August 20 at
lunch in Room 116. Bring your lunches and questions.
The
first Fanigame Club meeting will be Friday, August 21 at lunch in Room 116.
Remember, lunch has been shortened so we have to start as soon as possible.
Are
you looking for a place to win great scholarships, have fun, and do
awesome local and international service projects? Come to Key Club Monday August 24th at lunch in Ms. Bright's, room 218. We'll have some treats at
our first meeting and you'll learn more about this internationally recognized

application for the 2016 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship.
There are two $5,000.00 scholarships
available along with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. If you are
