Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Cross Country team on a fantastic Run at Regionals last Friday and a big congratulation to the lady Mustangs for Qualifying for the 2016 Nevada State Cross Country Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. Erin Moyer , Marena Middleton, Carley Legenbauer, Helena Middleton, Jessica Betz, Malia Pfeffer, Kalia Pfeffer as a team and Aric Turner on the boys side for making it as an individual to compete this coming Saturday 11/5/16 in Las Vegas. Congratulations and Good Luck!  

 

It’s finally time for the fall play!  You Can’t Take It With You is a charming comedy from the 1930’s about an eccentric family.  Advance tickets are on sale from showtix4u.com or Mrs. Kenyon in the office.  We have assigned seating, so gather a group of friends and go buy tickets together!  The show runs at 7:00 Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  We have a special student matinee at 3:00 on Friday—plan to stay after school!

Hola Amigos!  Day of the Dead is coming!!!  As part of the traditional Hispanic celebration, Hispanic Club will be selling sweet bread with ice cream $3.00, sweet bread without ice cream $1.50 hot chocolate $1.00 or a combo $4.00 in front of the counselors’ office at lunch time on Friday, November 4^th.  Thank you for your support, and we hope you enjoy the yummy bread!!

Come try a new item off the food truck this week!  Have your choice of cheesy chipotle (a kicked up grilled cheese!) or Chicken Ranch FLATBREAD panini sandwich!  The vegetarian option is greek salad with dinner roll.  Lunch combos are $2.85 and single entrees are $2.25.  Cash, free and reduced and lunch account accepted.  (Monday/Tuesday Announcement)

Effective Immediately – All Athletes who want to clear for Sports this Year (even if cleared for a fall sport) must Register Online at www.registermyathlete.com.  This program only works with Firefox or Chrome.  Any questions come into the main office and see Mrs. Daniels.

ALL Online Registration must be completed by November 2, 2016.

It’s finally time for the fall play!  You Can’t Take It With You is a charming comedy from the 1930’s about an eccentric family.  Advance tickets are on sale from showtix4u.com or Mrs. Kenyon in the office.  We have assigned seating, so gather a group of friends and go buy tickets together!  The show runs at 7:00 Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  We have a special student matinee at 3:00 on Friday—plan to stay after school!

Are you interested in becoming a doctor?  Come to the Career Center at lunch on Tuesday (10/25) to learn more about UNR’s BS-MD program.  This program offers an accelerated pathway into the medical school at UNR or UNLV.  Please see Mrs. Woo (111) if you have any questions.

Are you wanting to improve your math abilities, exploring interesting math topics, and become a better math test-taker?  Then you should join the Math Club!  The Math Club meets every Thursday during lunch in Mr. Pence’s room 121.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

October 21^st during IC there will be an admissions representative from Universal Technical Institute UTI giving a presentation.  If you need an IC pass to attend please stop by the Career Center and see Mrs. Aikin.

 

IF YOU ARE FEELING ILL AT SCHOOL, please remember to ask your teacher for a pass to the clinic.  You can call your parents from the clinic.  Your parents will sign you out in the clinic, so your attendance with be properly recorded.

 

ASVAB testing October 24th at 8 am.  Please stop by the Career Center to sign up and reserve you seat.  Testing will take place in Commander Van Buren's ROTC room.

Damonte Ranch Rifle Marksmanship Team is holding open tryouts for both Varsity and JV Teams Tuesday-Thursday, October 18-20, from 3-4:30 pm, you must attend all 3 days.  Report to Room 131, the Rifle Range.  All DRHS Students are welcome to tryout.
