DAMONTE RANCH HIGH SCHOOL THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE & MOMENT OF SILENCE TODAY IS AN “A” DAY THEY WORK WHILE WE SLEEP. Sometimes we walk around them in the halls not always “seeing” them or seeing their work as important. That’s why we love this day, National Custodian Day, which rolls around every October 2nd. It recognizes the hard work that our custodians do to make sure we have schools and workplaces that are spotless and sanitary. Custodians are our “first line of defense” of the “war on germs” and often, it’s a thankless task. So, on National Custodian Day, show your appreciation to the custodians who clean our school. As far we’re concerned, custodians are some of the hardest-working people in this building! THANK YOU TO OUR CUSTODIANS!!! AUDITIONS! PAC DRAMA IS HOLDING AUDITIONS for a one-act play that will perform at the Regional Theatre Festival! For more information, see the bulletin board outside the theatre door—auditions are after fall break, October 14th! It’s a comedy! Come have some fun! THE HOMECOMING DANCE IS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 16TH from 6:30-9:00pm. Dance tickets go on sale this Thursday at lunch in the counselor hallways- $10 presale or $15 at the door. Bring cash and your ID. All guest passes are due by Wednesday, October 13th to the corral. THE WEEK AFTER WE COME BACK FROM FALL BREAK is our Homecoming Spirit week! Monday, October 11th- Wear circus colors Red and White Tuesday- October 12th- Tourist day- show what you're going to wear for your next vacation Wednesday, October 13th- "On Wednesdays we wear Pink" Thursday, October 14th- Denim day- the one day denim on denim is OKAY Friday, October 15th- DRHS Mustang gear- show your spirit and wear blue and green! As always School dress code should be followed. FOR OUR HOMECOMING MAD MINUTE THIS YEAR we will raising money for "Sleep in Heavenly Peace"- a local charity that makes beds for children in our area who usually sleep on the floor. The money we raise will be used to buy new blankets, sheets, and pillows for them. So bring your spare change and let's fill up those buckets!!! IF YOU DRIVE TO SCHOOL AND PARK YOUR CAR ON CAMPUS you must have a Parking Permit. Please pay the Bookkeeper $5 and fill out the application in the Corral. Please make sure to bring your driver’s license, auto insurance and vehicle registration. The deadline for purchasing your student parking permit is October 8th. THE PRELIMINARY SAT/NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST (PSAT/NMSQT) is a national standardized test for 10th and 11th grade students. The exam will take place on October 13, 2021, for any interested 10th and 11th grade students. If interested, please register with the bookkeeper no later than October 1st. The cost is $18 for 11th grade students and is free for 10th grade students. More information will be provided as we get closer to the test date.
