PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

Today is a “b” DaY

Students and Teachers!  The annual Talent Show is TONIGHT in the Theatre!  Admission is $8 at the door for everyone, and your ticket includes one entry into a raffle held at the end of the evening for many prizes!  The Talent Show is always one of the most popular events on campus, and you won’t want to miss the terrific show we’ve got lined up this year.  Make sure you get the seat you want and show up early!  Tickets go on sale in the DRHS box office at 6:00 and the doors to the theatre open at 6:30.  All proceeds benefit the Drama Program, so come soak up the entertainment and support the arts at the same time!

Nutrition Services is conducting a web-based survey for all Middle School and High School students. The results will be used to better understand student needs and incorporate the results into our cafeteria offerings.  You will be asked to complete this survey in the Career Center during your up-coming Course Registration.  Bring your survey receipt to the cafeteria and you will receive a free Nutri-Grain Bar for participating in the survey.  One randomly chosen participant will receive a 7” Kindle Fire HDX.  The direct link to the survey is:  www.studentvp.com/washoe.

Yearbooks are selling fast, so don't wait until the last minute.  We've ordered the printing of only so many yearbooks, and once they're sold, there will be no more.  Buy your yearbook now and avoid the disappointment at the end of the year.  And buying now will save you $5 off the regular price.

The Literary Club is looking for writers!  We still need many poems, short stories, art work, photography, personal narratives and more.  Get a submission form from your English class, fill it out and drop it in the envelope, we’ll do the rest.  The end of March is the last month to submit any pieces of writing, so do it now.

Track & Field Pre-Season Workouts are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 3 pm-4:30 pm.  Meet at the Track.
If you have any questions, please see Coach Harrison, Coach Alian or Coach Woo.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  Did you attend Pleasant Valley Elementary school?  The Career Center now has the application for the Pleasant Valley Elementary school scholarship.  Deadline is March 24th.  Also, if your parent(s) are teachers for the WCSD and belong to Washoe Educators Association (WEA) there are two scholarships opportunities for you.  There is also the Michael Landsberry Scholarship for any student who attended Sparks Middle School.  Another scholarship is available for seniors of Hispanic descent who are interested in pursuing a career in education.  Please stop in the Career Center and see Mrs. Aikin.

To apply for a Tony Armstrong Memorial Scholarship you must have a GPA of 2.5.  Please stop by the Career Center to pick up your application.  Deadline is March 7th.

Attention any seniors who attended Marvin Moss Elementary School…the Moss PTA is offering four $500 scholarships.  Please stop by the Career Center for the application.  Deadline is March 28th.

A Driver Education class will be offered at Damonte Ranch High School during spring break. This 30-hour class fulfills the classroom requirement for a driver's license in Nevada if you are under 18. The cost is $94. Classes will be Monday-Thursday, April 7-10, from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Please call 829-9010 to register.
