PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE

TODAY IS A “b” DAY

Do you want to have your artwork in our 2016 yearbook? The yearbook staff is on a hunt to have Damonte’s best student art work featured in the yearbook. Go to room 130 and get more information from Ms. Chachas if you are interested.

Hello Mustangs!  Throughout the semester the staff in the Corral will periodically provide you with tips and rule reminders to help you stay on course for ultimate success at Damonte Ranch.  For this week, students and staff please remember that it is a school rule that there is NO access to the vending machines during class time.  Please appropriate your time accordingly when not in class to utilize the vending machines.  Have a great day Damonte Ranch!  (Run until 1/20/16)

Ever thought about being in a musical?!  Now’s your chance!  Auditions for our spring musical, Oklahoma, are Tuesday, January 19th at 2:30 in the theatre.  Come prepared to sing one minute of a song from a Broadway show and have fun dancing a little!  There is a lot more information (and an audition form that requires a parent signature) on the bulletin board outside the theatre in the Fine Arts hallway!  If you don’t audition, you’re going to regret it!

Hey Damonte!  Do you want to be in a movie?  Now's your chance!  Macyn Elquist and Anna Engel are creating a full-length feature film about bullying and the hardships of high school.  The best part?  Anyone can audition!  No experience?  Audition!  Years of experience?  Audition!  There will be an audition sheet hanging by the theater door along with plot and character descriptions: you can chose from the following dates for your audition times: January 25, February 1, and February 8 at lunch as well as January 28, February 4, and February 5 during IC.  Head on over to the theater and fill out that sign up sheet!  Thanks!

Just a friendly reminder that chess club is still meeting in room 114 (Mrs. Crowley’s room) every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch.  We are always looking for more people to join and have some fun with us.  Hope to see you there.  (Run through 1/22)

BSU will be meeting this Thursday, Jan. 14 in room 211 at lunch.   We will also be signing up teams for the BSU basketball tourney in the main hallway.  Team entry fees are $25 per team and sign-ups will go from Wednesday, January 13 until Thursday, Jan. 21.  Don’t miss this chance to sign your team up.  (Run until 1/21)

There will be a brief informational meeting about the trip To England & Ireland on Thursday, January 14 at Lunch 11:30 and after School at 2:30, in Mr. Kaplan’s room, 206.

Students!  Right now the literary magazine, Hoofnotes, is hoping more of you are considering submitting some writing for our school magazine. As it stands now, we may not have a magazine if more entries are not submitted soon.  Teachers, encourage any students with some writing pieces that you think would be wonderful to share, to submit as soon as possible.  Submit all work online at hoofnotesdrhs.weebly.com.  Thank you!

Literary magazine members!  There will be a meeting this Friday in Ms. Servilican’s room, #214, during lunch.  Please be on time so we can move forward this semester and get out literary magazine published in a timely manner.
