on a hunt to have Damonte’s best student art work featured in the yearbook. Go
to room 130 and get more information from Ms. Chachas if you are interested.

Throughout the semester the staff in the
Corral will periodically provide you with tips and rule reminders to help you
stay on course for ultimate success at Damonte Ranch. For this week, students and staff please
remember that it is a school rule that there is NO access to the vending
machines during class time. Please
appropriate your time accordingly when not in class to utilize the vending

Ever
thought about being in a musical?! Now’s your chance! Auditions for our spring musical, Oklahoma,
are Tuesday, January 19th at 2:30 in the theatre. Come prepared
to sing one minute of a song from a Broadway show and have fun dancing a
little! There is a lot more information (and an audition form that
requires a parent signature) on the bulletin board outside the theatre in the
Fine Arts hallway! If you don’t audition, you’re going to regret it!
Hey
Damonte! Do you want to be in a movie? Now's your chance! Macyn Elquist and Anna Engel are creating a
full-length feature film about bullying and the hardships of high school. The best part? Anyone can audition! No experience? Audition! Years of experience? Audition! There will be an audition sheet hanging by the
theater door along with plot and character descriptions: you can chose from the
following dates for your audition times: January 25, February 1, and February 8
at lunch as well as January 28, February 4, and February 5 during IC. Head on over to the theater and fill out that
sign up sheet! Thanks!
Just a friendly reminder that chess club is still meeting in room
114 (Mrs. Crowley’s room) every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch. We are
always looking for more people to join and have some fun with us. Hope to

BSU
will be meeting this Thursday, Jan. 14 in room 211 at lunch. We
will also be signing up teams for the BSU basketball tourney in the main
hallway. Team entry fees are $25 per team and sign-ups will go from
Wednesday, January 13 until Thursday, Jan. 21. Don’t miss this chance to
sign your team up. (Run until 1/21)
There
will be a brief informational meeting about the trip To England & Ireland
on Thursday, January 14 at Lunch 11:30 and after School at 2:30, in Mr.
Kaplan’s room, 206.
Students!
Right now the literary magazine, Hoofnotes, is hoping more of you
are considering submitting some writing for our school magazine. As it stands
now, we may not have a magazine if more entries are not submitted soon.
Teachers, encourage any students with some writing pieces that you think would
be wonderful to share, to submit as soon as possible. Submit all work
online at hoofnotesdrhs.weebly.com. Thank you!

There will be a meeting this Friday in Ms. Servilican’s room, #214, during
lunch. Please be on time so we can move forward this semester and get out
literary magazine published in a timely manner.
