Are you looking for an apprenticeship in an emerging Nevada Industry? Well, TMCC has the right program for you. Emerging industries are looking for skilled construction workers. The pre-apprenticeship program is just four weeks and can help place you in a high-paying apprenticeship. Do you want to be your own boss? The Nevada Chamber of Commerce is looking for students who want help starting their own business. Now is the time to apply. Scholarships are available. Best Buddies if finally back on track!  If you are interested in getting more information or joining the Best Buddies Club here on campus please join us for a meeting on Friday at Lunch in room 136, the dance room.    Best Buddies in an international organization that pairs students with special needs with a peer in the hopes of forming friendships through social events and spending time together.  Again please join us this Thursday at lunch in room 136, the dance room.   

 

ATTENTION DAMONTE RANCH!!!  It’s the moment you have all been waiting for!  Dancing with the staff is this Thursday, January 28.  The big show starts at 7 p.m. in the theater and tickets are $8 per seat.  There will be a huge silent auction and a delicious bake sale during intermission. Not only will you be supporting your dance team, but you will have the opportunity to decide who will be Damonte’s next dance champion.  Ms. Wulfing will be looking for back-to-back wins with 14 other staff members hungry for the crown.  There will be a huge silent auction and a delicious bake sale during intermission.  You will be entertained beyond your wildest dreams with a performance by your outstanding dance team and a special surprise group dance.  Don’t miss out on this fantastic event, Mustangs!  See you on Thursday!!!

Mustangs!  Lend a helping hand and donate blood.  When you give blood, you can help save the lives of up to three local hospital patients.  United Blood services is coming to Damonte on January 29th from 8:00 to 1:00.  Sign up to donate with a blood drive team member in the counselor’s hallway this week at lunch.  You must be at least 16 years old, 110 pounds, have your parent's written permission and be in relatively good health to donate.  Be a life saver: sign up today.

Attention Seniors, if you haven’t filled out your “Senior Quote” and “Senior Standout” forms for the yearbook yet, you can pick them up at the office or in room 130.  Pleased turn them into Ms. Chachas in room 130.  They are due Friday February 5th.  

 

Another reminder Seniors, the last day to purchase and upload your Senior Tribute ad is February 23rd at yearbookforever.com. This is the part of the yearbook were your parents or friends can designate a section just for you!  You only have a month left and spots are limited.  So tell your loved ones to go to yearbookforever.com.  (Friday February 5th)  

 

JAG is looking for students to help collect fans and run the raffle at games. If you are interested, go see Mr. Plaskon in the old photo lab room 147 across from ceramics.

 

There is a new fan at Damonte Ranch Basketball Games, but this fan is totally different, spreading a positive message. The Fans for Fans project was developed by Principal Hausauer in collaboration with Jobs For America’s Graduates the students who run the student store. The plastic hand-held fans are given out to sports fans and have a positive message encouraging good sportsmanship and to keep the stands clean. Each fan has a number on it and at half-time at games Jobs for America’s Graduates holds a raffle for the winning number. The fans are recycled at the end of each game. Come get your fan at the next Damonte game, Friday January 29th, when we play Carson City.

 

Hey students! Have you ever wanted your art or writing to be published! Now's your chance! The 2016 Literary Magazine is now taking submissions. Go to hoofnotesdrhs.weebly.com to submit your work. Please remember to include your name, grade, title and optional dedication. Artwork cannot be returned, but copies are welcome! We can't wait to see what you've got!

 

Do you want to have your artwork in our 2016 yearbook? The yearbook staff is on a hunt to have Damonte’s best student art work featured in the yearbook. Go to room 130 and get more information from Ms. Chachas if you are interested.

 

The Alliance with the Washoe County Medical Society  (AWCMS) will be holding its well-known annual Physicians’ Spouses’ (“Doctors’ Wives”) Rummage Sale on February 27, 2016, at the Reno Livestock Event Center. Is seeking student volunteers from Damonte Ranch High School to participate in our efforts to help the less fortunate in our community. Our workweek begins on Monday, February 22, through Friday, February 26, from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Sale day on Saturday, February 27, begins at 7:15 am and lasts until 4:30 pm.
