PLEDGE & MOMENT OF SILENCE
TODAY IS AN “A” DAY
Hello
Mustangs,
As
the weather begins to get warmer, it is imperative that students continue to
follow the Washoe County School District (WSCD) dress code. The WCSD
dress code policy may be found in the student planner, in the display in front of
Student Services, and on our DRHS website.
So
be sure shorts and dresses are at least mid-length (roughly to the bottom of
your finger tips when you stand up straight), and keep those hats and hoodies
off while on campus, etc.
If
you have any questions please feel free to contact Student Services.
The
staff at Damonte Ranch is committed to working with you to ensure all students
have a successful spring semester in the classroom, and we can do so by
limiting dress code violation distractions.
Thank
you for your commitment to your education. Go mustangs!

Willa Cather once said, “Most of the basic material a
writer works with is acquired before the age of fifteen.” That means
writers, that you have a lot to work with so consider submitting your work to
the Hoof Notes literary magazine. The deadline is fast approaching…it’s about
two weeks away! Submit work to your English classroom teacher, to Ms.
Servilican in room 214. We are still looking for some excellent work from
students and teachers alike. Hear that teachers, you are welcome to
submit something too!
Damonte Ranch High School would like to thank Lamppost Pizza, Renown and
The Reno Print Store for supporting the production of new window covers at
DRHS. JAG students, Jill Bohach, Hector Ponce, Tanner Fox, Maddie Nichols,
Brittany Carroll Keegan and Miranda Slack Welsh donated hundreds of hours
designing and manufacturing the covers, developing relationships in the
community, comparing prices, overcoming barriers and communicating with various
staff to make this project happen. Lamppost Pizza donated $400 and Renown has
contributed $200. The Reno Print Store also provided printing at reduced cost.
The idea for the window covers came from Damonte Ranch High School’s outgoing
Principal, Denise Hausauer. She said “JAG students are a behind the scenes kind
of group, and sometimes that is hard.” So, if you see a JAG student, give them
a big thank you!
The
Ceramics Dept. will be selling fused glass jewelry in room 146 from
2:30-3:30 beginning Monday May 1 and running through Friday May 12.
The
work for sale will be on display in the case in front of room 144 in the arts
hall.
All
proceeds go to buy supplies for our students and DRHS students get a $5.00
discount on up to three items.
These
items make perfect Mother’s Day gifts. Come out support the Ceramics dept. at
Damonte!

June 8th and Friday June 9th.
