TODAY IS AN “A” DAY
Hey Damonte! Get in your homecoming
spirit by dressing up for spirit week. Monday the 3rd is pajama day so dress in your
favorite pajamas and stay home for Labor Day! Tuesday
the 4th is Cartoon Day, so dress like your favorite childhood cartoon
character. Wednesday the 5th is Time
Travel Day, so dress in any of your favorite trends from the past. Thursday the 6th is Tourist Day, so wear your
fanny packs and Hawaiian shirts. Friday
the 7th is Damonte Pride, so wear blue and green and get ready for the game!

your pictures and Student ID are here!
Please see Mrs. Fike in the Main Office at lunch to pick yours up.
The
Student Store is now selling groovy blue and green tie-dyed t-shirts! They
are $10 each and feature a rad peace sign design that makes this piece perfect
for Spirit Week!
Interested
in faraway lands and cultures? Ever wonder what the world is like beyond our
own borders? Would you like to know more about exotic places and
cultures? Are you from somewhere other than here? If you answer yes to
any one of these questions, you belong in the International Club. Stop by
every Tuesday in room 108 at lunch and share your stories and listen to the
exciting stories of other students. It’s a nice way to enjoy lunch. (Run Monday and Tuesday)
Just
a friendly reminder: New lunch
applications for the 2018-2019 School Year need to be turned in by the first
week of September to avoid interruption in breakfast and lunch service. Paper applications are located in the Office
on the spinner rack. Applications can
also be done on line at washoeschools.net.
Attention
all sports fans.
If you plan on attending any sports event at Damonte Ranch High School, please
note that backpacks
are not allowed. You will not be allowed to enter the
facility with a backpack.
Additionally,
no outside food or drink is allowed. Please plan accordingly.

The Business Student Council which is a club at
University of Nevada, Reno is having their annual speakers competition on
September 25th called the Road to TedX. Applications are due on September 7th.
Stop by the Career Center for more information.
Hey Juniors, Hablas Español?
Have you ever thought about a career in
healthcare? The University of Nevada,
Reno is looking for bilingual students to be part of the CBESS Program. You will explore careers in healthcare, spend
3 weeks living on the UNR campus during the summer, visit hospitals and
clinics, have a mentor, and experience an internship all for free! For more
information about this amazing program stop by during lunch at (Career Center) on Thursday
September 13th to talk to the reps or please come see (Mrs. Aikin) at the career
center for an application.
Attention Juniors and Seniors-An affordable, five-hour SAT/PSAT prep class is coming to our
school thanks to @Doorway2College. Register now: https://store.zaps.com/seminars, Wednesday
& Thursday September 19th & 20th 2018- 3:00 pm –
5:30 pm.

Juniors.
Any student wishing to take the PSAT and National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test
will need to register with the book keeper no later Friday September 28th. The PSAT/NMSQT will be
administered on October 10th at
8am. The fee to take the exam for juniors is $16.
There are only 150 slots available. (Please keep

Perry Outreach Program
is on Saturday, November 10,
2018 at the University of Nevada Reno School of
Medicine in Reno, NV for those female students who interested in pursuing
careers in medicine and engineering. Stop
by the Career Center to see Mrs. Aikin for the application.
