Safety
~From the Corral
Damonte Ranch High School is committed to school safety. If your student hears about a possible
threat or impending school incident, please have them immediately report it
to school administration to ensure school staff is aware of it. Please tell your student to refrain from
posting the information on social media, as this creates rumors and
panic. Remember, your student’s
responsible actions can help keep students safe and they can remain
anonymous.
The WCSD provides video surveillance on school campus’ as well as on
each school bus to help keep students safe.
Schools are required to practice a monthly emergency drill. The best way for students to help during
an emergency is to be where they are expected to be and follow the
emergency procedures they practice.
Monthly, DRHS practices one of the following drills:

Fire Evacuation Drills teach students how to appropriately evacuate
the building and where to report to.
·
A Code Yellow, securing perimeter doors, is utilized to prevent the
occurrence of a major incident when conditions indicate a higher than
normal threat level is present NEAR campus.
·
A Code Red lockdown is utilized when an actual crisis situation or
impending threat has occurred on school campus (or across the street/near
campus).
·
A Code Blue is utilized for a medical emergency. A trained Code Blue team responds to
medical emergencies.
Students have
already practiced a fire drill, earthquake drill, code red drill and a code
blue drill this school year. Safety
is always our primary concern!

Wednesday & Thursday, September 18 & 19, 2019 in the Career Center

This year’s homecoming theme is “Reno
the Biggest Little City” also known as- “DRHS-
the Biggest Little Homecoming “! You can
now buy your homecoming dance tickets during lunch starting
Monday the 16th. Don’t wait for the big lines at the end of the
week. You’ll save time and money if you buy them early. Dance
tickets are $10 if you buy them on Monday or Tuesday, $12 if bought
Wednesday through Friday and $15 at the door. The homecoming dance
is here from 7-10pm on Saturday, September 21st.

Speaking of homecoming- this year
we will have a tailgate party before the big game on September 20th. The first 150 who buy tickets to the tailgate party
get a free homecoming shirt. Tickets are $10 and are
on sale during lunch in the courtyard starting September
16th. You’ll get your shirt when you buy your ticket!!!
You’re going to want one so don’t wait until they are all
gone. Thanks to everyone who submitted amazing homecoming
logos. Congratulations to Marina Vallejo for coming up with
our award-winning homecoming logo this year.
This year you have the chance to help your class decorate your homecoming
float. They will be working on them after school on Friday, September 20th at 2:45 in the west and north parking lots. Come show
your spirit and help your class while creating memories!!!
If you’re
bringing a guest from another school to the homecoming dance, guest passes can be found in
the corral or the wall in the counselor’s hallway. The passes are due Wednesday, Sept 18th.

Do
you drive to school and park your car on campus??
Parking
passes for the 2019- 2020 school year are here. All student drivers are required to have a
parking permit to park at school. Parking permit applications can be picked up
in the Corral. They are $5 and must be
displayed on the vehicle in the front windshield. When turning in your application make sure to
bring your driver’s license to provide for verification. Students can park in the north and south
parking lots. There is no student
parking in the staff parking lots or by the mobile classrooms including zero
period or after school. Cars parked in
any other lot will be notified and asked to move their car immediately. The deadline for purchasing your student
parking permit is September 27th of this year.
Any cars parked on campus after September 27th
that do not have a parking permit may be towed at the owner’s expense.
