spring break-March 31-April 11, 2014.
Finally Friday and EVERYONE knows that there will
be new IC expectations when we return from break… we hope
everyone has a safe and fun break… and here are the top 2 most important things
you need to know about IC…
2. IC is
an instructional period and all school rules apply. That includes:
· Dress code
· Attendance, tardies and truancy
· Behavior
· Technology rules
· No use of vending machines etc.
1. The
purpose of IC is to teach and support students in structured independence to:
· Reach individual, school and district learning
goals
· Take responsibility for their own learning
· Use intervention and flex time for academic
success
Students!
We are nearing the submission deadline for Hoof Notes, the literary
magazine. This Friday, March 28 is the last day that you may turn in
submissions either for art, short stories, poetry, drama, and nonfiction.
We will not…repeat…will not, accept submissions after this week. So, all
you writers out there must submit anything you’re interested in seeing in the
literary magazine by this Friday. Remember, there are prizes in the form
of gift cards for first, second, and third places in each category:
$100.00 for the first prize submission, $75.00 for the 2nd prize
submission and $50.00 for the third prize winner.
Attention Seniors: on Friday, April 18th there will be auditions
for musical performances at graduation. These
will be held in orchestra room at 2:40. There
will be a sign up sheet in the Career Center. If you are interested or have any questions
please see Mrs. Aikin.
Attention NHS Seniors, your last day to pay for the sashes is March 28TH. See Ms.
De Pedro Robles (DPR) or Ms. Hemler.
LOST
and FOUND: If you have lost a
jacket, coat, sweatshirt etc. please come to the corral. All items that are
not claimed by Friday March 28th will be donated to Goodwill.
U.S. Scholarship Program is now available for students to apply.
Deadline is May 29, 2014. Apply
online at www.usbank.com/scholarship.
A Driver Education class will be
offered at Damonte Ranch High School during
spring break. This 30-hour class fulfills the classroom requirement for a
driver's license in Nevada if you are under 18. The cost is $94. Classes will
be Monday-Thursday, April 7-10, from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Please call 829-9010 to register.
If you are
interested in an after-school job, check out the job board by the Career Center.
