Mustangs, for any freshman or new students

of the Yearbook. The LAST DAY to take
your senior portraits, is November 19th. Don’t miss out! Again, if you miss this date you will not be

The
Washoe County School Police Department and Reno Police Departments have joined
together this year for their Police Explorer programs. This Explorer program is
looking for qualified students who have an interest in the career of law
enforcement. If interested, please see the main office for a Police Explorer
brochure.

THERE IS A NEW INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. APPLY
NOW TO WORK ON THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL AND SENATORIAL ELECTIONS IN NEVADA. IT
STARTS OUT AS A VOLUNTEER POSITION, BUT THERE WILL BE PAID POSITIONS AVAILABLE
IN 2016. THEY WILL BE LOOKING AT THEIR INTERNS TO FILL THOSE SLOTS. If
interested in gaining work experience and working on a political campaign,
contact Jon at 777-4067. Or see Ms. Bryson or your social studies teacher to
see the flyer and more information.
TMCC’s Community Education Drivers’
Education class, which costs $99, fulfills the
30 hour classroom requirement, will be held at DRHS October 26-29. Parents are responsible for the 50 hours
behind-the-wheel requirement. These classes fill quickly. If the class you
want is full, look for another that has space available.
Hey Damonte are your looking for an
opportunity to volunteer? The
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure needs lots of helpers. The race is October 4

Damonte
Ranch High School is looking to start a new chess club! All who are interested should join us every
Tuesday and Thursday during lunch is Mrs. Crowley's room: room 114. Come make some new friends and have fun
while improving your skills. (run through Sept 30th)
Sophomores
and Juniors!
The PSAT test is Wednesday Oct 14th. The preliminary SAT is
the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. The cost is $15
for juniors. See the bookkeeper today! (Run it for
three days a week until Oct 2nd.)
Seniors I now have the hard copy
application for the 2016 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship.
There are two $5,000.00 scholarships
available along with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. If you are
interested stop by the Career Center or checkout the website www.ussenateyouth.org.
