Congratulations
PAC Drama Technical Theatre students! Last week, two teams of students attended
the regional Technical Olympics, learning in workshops and competing with
technical skill in various areas of theatre production. Ilyana Hobson
earned 3rd place in Props, Heather Renner earned 2nd
place in Lighting, and Maggie Regier pulled down a 1st place win in
Costume Quick Change. Overall, Damonte Ranch High School also won the
honor of “Most Accurate” overall—for the 2nd year in a row!
Great job, technical theatre students!

Congratulations to Jade Whitbeck for
placing 2nd in Novice Poetry
and Prose and 3rd place in Senate’s Congressional Debate. Thank you
Damonte Mustangs for playing host to 17 high schools and over 250 plus students
this weekend.
The
Washoe County School Police Department and Reno Police Departments have joined
together this year for their Police Explorer programs. This Explorer program is
looking for qualified students who have an interest in the career of law
enforcement. If interested, please see the main office for a Police Explorer
brochure.

THERE IS A NEW INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. APPLY
NOW TO WORK ON THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL AND SENATORIAL ELECTIONS IN NEVADA. IT
STARTS OUT AS A VOLUNTEER POSITION, BUT THERE WILL BE PAID POSITIONS AVAILABLE
IN 2016. THEY WILL BE LOOKING AT THEIR INTERNS TO FILL THOSE SLOTS. If
interested in gaining work experience and working on a political campaign,

Want to improve your
ACT/SAT scores?
TMCC will be holding an Ace the ACT/SAT Math class taking place Saturday Sept
26 from 9-3pm. Registration flyers are available in the office.
TMCC’s Community Education Drivers’
Education class, which costs $99, fulfills the
30 hour classroom requirement, will be held at DRHS October 26-29. Parents are responsible for the 50 hours
behind-the-wheel requirement. These classes fill quickly. If the class you
want is full, look for another that has space available.

opportunity to volunteer? The
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure needs lots of helpers. The race is October 4

Damonte
Ranch High School is looking to start a new chess club! All who are interested should join us every
Tuesday and Thursday during lunch is Mrs. Crowley's room: room 114. Come make some new friends and have fun
while improving your skills. (run through Sept 30th)

The PSAT test is Wednesday Oct 14th. The preliminary SAT is
the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. The cost is $15
for juniors. See the bookkeeper today! (Run it for
three days a week until Oct 2nd.)

There are two $5,000.00 scholarships
