Sophomores
and Juniors!
The PSAT test is Wednesday Oct 14th. The preliminary SAT is
the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. The cost is $15
for juniors. See the bookkeeper today! (Run it for
three days a week until Oct 2nd.)
Seniors!
Don’t be left out of the Senior Portrait Section of the Yearbook. The LAST DAY to take your senior portraits is
Nov 19th. Again, if you miss
this date you will not be in the Yearbook… and that’s just sad. Schedule your
appointment today with Lifetouch located on E. Patriot Blvd. or call

There
will be a Black Student Union meeting for all interested students in room 211
at lunch on Thursday, Sept. 10. Please come if you are interested in
joining this group. Room 211 Thursday, September 10th at lunch.
There
will be a Mock Trial meeting for students interested in joining on Tuesday,
September 8th at lunch in room M-5.
All
girls interested in open gym for girls basketball, please see Coach
Shepard room 144, Coach Schmidt in room 231 or coach Snyder in PE. The
first one will be held on Wednesday, September 9th from 2:00-3:00.
Coffee Fundraiser!
Ms. Daker’s CLS class is once again selling coffee,
tea and hot Chocolate for $1.00. Stop by room 106 to order your coffee before
school or throughout the day.

Speech
and Debate
is looking for “Speakers”- Speech and Debate meet every Thursday after school
from 2:40 – 4:00 pm in the Career Center. DRHS will be hosting the first
tournament of the debating season this September 18th & 19th
it is a wonderful opportunity to see what all the buzz is about. Please see
Mrs. Aikin or Mrs. Amini if you have any questions.
Seniors I now have the hard copy
application for the 2016 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship.
There are two $5,000.00 scholarships
available along with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. If you are
