Literary
Club!
We will be meeting this Friday, October 2 in Ms. Servilican’s room.
Please attend as we need to pass out the rest of our winner certificates and we
need your signatures. If you would like to join Literary Club, please
come to room 214 and join us. See you on Friday during lunch!
Looking
for a lunch club to meet new friends and do fun activities? BSU, the Black
Student Union will be meeting this Thursday, October 1st in
room 211 at lunch to discuss plans for the future. Also, by the way, BSU
is not limited to black students, everyone is welcome to join and help educate
others about diversity and spread understanding. Come to our meeting
Thursday in room 211 and find out about BSU.
THERE
WILL BE a brief meeting after school on Thursday, October 1st, in Mr.
Kaplan’s room, 206, to give out information about this year’s trip to Europe
(Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and England).
Attention DRHS Mustangs- On Wednesday November 4th there will be an ASVAB-The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that
measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational
success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million
military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students. Testing
starts at 12:00 until 4:00 pm. There will be a signup sheet in the Career
Center to reserve your spot.

Would
you like to sing the National Anthem at a sporting event? Come see Ms.
Tibben for auditions to sing at Football or Basketball games. Room

Seniors!
Don’t be left out of the Senior Portrait
Section
of the Yearbook. The LAST DAY to take
your senior portraits, is November 19th. Don’t miss out! Again, if you miss this date you will not be
in the Yearbook… and that’s just sad. Schedule
your appointment today with Lifetouch located on E. Patriot Blvd. or call

Ms. Chachas in room 130. Again, the Last Day to take senior
portraits at Lifetouch is November 19th!
TMCC’s Community Education Drivers’
Education class, which costs $99, fulfills the
30 hour classroom requirement, will be held at DRHS October 26-29. Parents are responsible for the 50 hours
behind-the-wheel requirement. These classes fill quickly. If the class you
want is full, look for another that has space available.
Hey Damonte are your looking for an
opportunity to volunteer? The
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure needs lots of helpers. The race is October 4

Ranch High School is looking to start a new chess club! All who are interested should join us every
Tuesday and Thursday during lunch is Mrs. Crowley's room: room 114. Come make some new friends and have fun
while improving your skills. (run through Sept 30th)
Sophomores
and Juniors!
The PSAT test is Wednesday Oct 14th. The preliminary SAT is
the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. The cost is $15
for juniors. See the bookkeeper today! (Run it for
three days a week until Oct 2nd.)
Seniors I now have the hard copy
application for the 2016 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship.
There are two $5,000.00 scholarships
available along with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. If you are
interested stop by the Career Center or checkout the website www.ussenateyouth.org.
