AP Students:  AP Exams begin on Monday.  AP students, please be sure you show up to your testing room 15 minutes prior to the start of the test with your ID and all materials needed for the exam.

 

There’s still time to join your classmates.  The 2017 presidential inauguration trip is scheduled for January 2017, but you can still register if you would like to attend this once in a lifetime trip to Washington DC.  If you are still interested in attending or would like more information regarding the trip, you can see Mr. Fournier in room M6.  Mr. Fournier can provide you registration and informational materials regarding the trip.  He can also answer any questions you may have about this amazing opportunity.

Good morning!  The Washoe County School Police Department is NOW accepting applications for next year’s Police Explorers Program.  This class is offered on Monday evenings at 6 PM.  At the end of each semester, students who have successfully completed the requirements will earn half of a credit through the supplemental credit office.  The School Police Explorer Program is combined with the Reno Police Explorers Program.   A few topics this program covers include: The History of Law Enforcement, radio traffic, case law, building searches, traffic stops, drug laws and ride along opportunities. 

 

Posters have been hung up in all the High Schools.  There is a barcode located on the lower right corner that will direct students to an online application.  Informational handouts are also available in the Corral.  There are eligibility for enrollment requirements along a commitment to complete 35 hours of community service per semester.  Students are given the opportunity to work with other local agencies throughout the semester to help complete their community service hours.   Have a Great Day Damonte!  (Run through 4/22)

Congratulations to Sam Banghart, the winner of the singles bracket, and Dante and Zeke Brooke, the doubles champions.  Make sure you keep an eye out for the tournaments next year to show off your skills, Damonte!

Ryan Regier, 2nd place and National Qualifier in Informational Speech
Jade and Jennifer Whitbeck, 4th place and National Alternates in PF Debate
Jade Whitbeck, 2nd place and National Alternate in Congressional Debate
Kobe Kitson, Finalist in Speech
And congratulations to all debate team members who came and competed at this high stakes tournament.
