Our Blood drive is Wednesday, March 4th.  Don’t forget to pick up your pass to get out of class if you’ve scheduled an appointment.  You can get those at lunch in counselors’ hallway or from Mrs. Norton in room 226.  If you are giving blood, please be sure to eat a good dinner Tuesday night and a hearty breakfast on Wednesday morning.  It’s going to be a GREAT DAY!

A Return to Neverland Jr./Sr. Prom tickets are still on sale at lunch or you can buy them from the Bookkeeper.  The final day to buy tickets is Friday.  There will be no ticket sales at the door.  Guest Pass Applications are due to the Corral by Wednesday.  This week is Prom Spirit week. 

Monday  Return to Neverland- Dress in your most comfortable clothes just like Wendy, John, and Michael did when they returned to Neverland.

Tuesday- Lost Boys – Dress like when you were younger, when you didn’t want to grow up!

Wednesday- E vs. Visco day – Dress like your favorite trend. Either E or Visco

Thursday- Pirate Day – Dress like your favorite pirate:  Captain Hook

Friday- “Croc”odile Day - Wear your crocs and green

The Damonte Speech & Debate Team had their last regular season tournament in Spring Creek this past weekend and cleaned up on awards:

Kaylee Nguyen - 5th place Senior Informative, 3rd place Public Forum debate, 2nd top PF speaker

Mathew Petersen - 3rd place Novice Storytelling

Marina Vallejo - 2nd place Novice Informative

ALL 11TH Grade students will participate in the Nevada statewide ACT with Writing on Tuesday, February 25.     12th Grade students who have not previously taken and received a valid score on the ACT with Writing will also participate.  Non-testing students are excused from school for the full day on February 25th.  Regular bus schedules will be in effect for testing students.

The first is the Kenyan Youth Leadership Program, which takes place April 15th-29th and the Algerian Youth Leadership Program, which takes place June 15th -July 8th.  Deadline for both is February 16th.  For more information, stop by the Career Center.

Damonte Ranch JV and Varsity Cheer attended the USA Spirit National on February 14-15.  JV finished/tied for 6th in a very tough division that was only .50 points separating all 10 teams.  Varsity Cheer competed against 16 teams in their division on day 1 and qualified for day 2 by making the top 35% of the competing teams.  Varsity went into day two siting in 4th place and behind by .30 of a point.  The team rallied together to put on the best performance all season HIT a zero-deduction performance and added 2.5 points to their score.  Varsity Cheer has now won 1st place National Championship title for the third year in a row.
