BOYS OPEN GYM THIS WEEK IS MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY from 6:15 until 8:15 pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 7 until 8:30 pm. WE HAVE OUR ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE COMING THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 15-19TH. EVERY DAY that week students from NHS and Leadership will be coming into your freshman seminar/IC classes to collect food you and your students bring. The IC/freshman seminar class who collects THE MOST food that week will earn a pizza or ice cream party (your choice)!!! All food needs to be non-perishable. Let's set a new school record and collect TONS of food for our community. OUR FIRST BLOOD DRIVE OF THE YEAR IS ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH. Get information to sign up in the counselor hallway every day at lunch starting Monday, November 8th or go to room 226. You must be 16 or older to donate. You can also sign up online at donors.vitalant.org and use blood drive code DRHS. Be a hero and donate blood. It's a lifechanging experience. If there is a topic that is new to him, he digs in to learn it and apply it. He is willing to help others that may be struggling and has a really positive attitude, which rubs off on the whole class! Damonte Ranch will be offering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test as a resource and career exploration tool to help guide you. The ASVAB is free and tests you in everything from math and science down to mechanics and electronics, to help you find out where your strengths and talents lie. Once graded you will be given a breakdown of all your scores and an explanation of what they mean. The test is offered to all sophomores through seniors and can be taken multiple times. THE PRELIMINARY SAT/NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST (PSAT/NMSQT) is a national standardized test for 10th and 11th grade students. The exam will take place on October 13, 2021, for any interested 10th and 11th grade students. If interested, please register with the bookkeeper no later than October 1st. The cost is $18 for 11th grade students and is free for 10th grade students. More information will be provided as we get closer to the test date.
