Hey Damonte!  Get in your homecoming spirit by dressing up for spirit week.  Monday the 3rd is pajama day so dress in your favorite pajamas and stay home for Labor Day!   Tuesday the 4th is Cartoon Day, so dress like your favorite childhood cartoon character.  Wednesday the 5th is Time Travel Day, so dress in any of your favorite trends from the past.  Thursday the 6th is Tourist Day, so wear your fanny packs and Hawaiian shirts.  Friday the 7th is Damonte Pride, so wear blue and green and get ready for the game!

 

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS:  If you got your picture taken this summer with Bell Photography, your pictures and Student ID are here!  Please see Mrs. Fike in the Main Office at lunch to pick yours up.

Interested in faraway lands and cultures? Ever wonder what the world is like beyond our own borders?  Would you like to know more about exotic places and cultures?  Are you from somewhere other than here? If you answer yes to any one of these questions, you belong in the International Club.  Stop by every Tuesday in room 108 at lunch and share your stories and listen to the exciting stories of other students.  It’s a nice way to enjoy lunch. (Run Monday and Tuesday)

Hey Juniors, Hablas Español?  Have you ever thought about a career in healthcare?  The University of Nevada, Reno is looking for bilingual students to be part of the CBESS Program.  You will explore careers in healthcare, spend 3 weeks living on the UNR campus during the summer, visit hospitals and clinics, have a mentor, and experience an internship all for free! For more information about this amazing program stop by during lunch at (Career Center) on Thursday September 13^th to talk to the reps or please come see (Mrs. Aikin) at the career center for an application.

Attention Juniors.  Any student wishing to take the PSAT and National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test will need to register with the book keeper no later Friday September 28^th.  The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on October 10^th at 8am.  The fee to take the exam for juniors is $16.  There are only 150 slots available. Remember

• Sit on the Damonte side.  Students are not allowed to go to the visitor side.
• Once you enter the football stadium, no reentry is allowed.
• Leave your backpacks at home.
• You may not bring beverages inside the gate.
• Entry is free with an activity sticker or students pay $4.

(An activity sticker will get you into all home football and basketball games.)

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be having its first club meeting open to all students will be on Tuesday, Sept 11^th in room 109.  The leadership meetings will be on every Wednesday during lunch in 109.  FCA is a club that is open to all students, whether you are an athlete, a Christian, or not.  Everyone is welcome to attend! (Run 8/20-8/23)

Remember

• Sit on the Damonte side.  Students are not allowed to go to the visitor side.
• Once you enter the football stadium, no reentry is allowed.
• Leave your backpacks at home.
• You may not bring beverages inside the gate.
• Entry is free with an activity sticker or students pay $4.

(An activity sticker will get you into all home football and basketball games.)

Looking for a cool club to join?  Something that is not only laid back and relaxing but intellectually stimulating at the same time.  Then come to the Coffee Shop Club Thursday at lunch in room 108.  The Coffee Shop Club is the coolest, hippest place on campus.  We talk about contemporary issues and share poetry and music.  It’s cool.  It’s safe.  It for anybody.  Optional attire, a black beret and turtleneck.
