A
fantastic trip to Spain & Portugal over Spring Break of 2017 is
coming. Experience the trip of a lifetime to the Latin part of Europe.
Stop by Mr. Kaplan’s room #206 for more information Monday during lunch and
noon after that until finals are over. If you have a “B” and can act mature and
respectful in other countries---come join us.” A couple of people
have already signed up at the discounted rate—so don’t wait!
The math department is looking for Math Peer Tutors
for during IC next year. If you are an A or B math student and you would
like to be a Math Peer Tutoring instead of taking IC, then please see Mrs. Ault
in room 122. (6/2-6/6)
We are excited to announce the winners
of the 2016 DRHS Mathematics Challenge Exam. The following students each
received scholarships of $250: Lucas Marshall, Peter Marshall, Erin
Moyer, Joey Addington, Austin Peng, Alex Pollock, Hailey Padua, Lauren Greb,
Brian Tschirhart, Samson Moore, Valentino Jaganjac, Victoria Moore, Grace
Tibben-Lemke, and Maggie Leung. There are also three students who each
won $500 scholarships: Eric Nelson, Joel Senteney, and Chris
Salinas. Finally, our grand prize winner who won a $1000 scholarship is
Ryan Regier. The math department wants to thank all the students who
participated in this challenge, with a special thanks to Earl Whitney, who
organizes, creates, and funds this scholarship each year. Congratulations
to these talented math students! (Run 6/2/16 and 6/3/16)
There
will be an informational meeting for future AP chemistry students or anyone who
is interested in taking AP chemistry next year. The meeting will be in
Mrs. Crowley’s room: room 114 at lunch on Monday, June 6th. We
will be discussing the class and getting you registered for online resources
for the summer. Textbooks will also be distributed. If you cannot
make this meeting, please see Mrs. Crowley before you leave for summer.
Do
you love the sing-off and Pitch Perfect?! Come hear and see Damonte’s a
cappella choir, the Lunch Choir, in concert, THIS FRIDAY, June 3, 3:30 pm in
the Theater. We’re asking for a $2 donation for the choir program to see
the show. Be ready to be amazed!
Don’t
forget – all LIBRARY books are due! Avoid receiving a bill for books and turn
them in right away. Thanks so much!

friendly reminder from the corral, if you have lost something, come by the corral
and check our lost and found as soon as possible! All items left in the lost and found after 12 pm
on Monday June 6th, will be donated! Don’t delay, act today!

Fun Hat Day is coming! Get ready to wear
your funnest or favorite hat or hoodie all week at school! It starts on Tuesday, May 31 through Friday,
June 3rd. You can buy your
wristband today in the Student Store, just $2 a day. Only 200 wrist band are available. The
proceeds benefit your hard-working volunteer student store staff. See you at the Student Store!
Attention
Damonte Ranch, the Distribution Day for the Yearbook is almost here! Seniors
you will be receiving your yearbook on Friday June 3rd after your
graduation practice. There will be tables right outside of the gym where you
can pick them up. You MUST have your ID to receive your Yearbook.
That following Monday, June 6th Freshmen, Sophomores, and
Juniors will be receiving theirs. We will be distributing them in the
morning starting at 7:00am, at lunch, and after school in the counselor’s hallway.
You MUST have your ID to receive your Yearbook. There is a
limited amount of Award winning Yearbooks left so go to yearbookforever.com or
the bookkeeper to reserve yours today!”

Student council is hosting the first
ever battle of the DJ’s competition during next year’s Glo dance. Do you want to share your favorite music at
Glo? Do you want to show off your
awesome skills? Then sign up to compete

Nevada
law states that students,
ages 15 through 18, must complete 30 hours in a driver’s education class, plus
50 hours behind the wheel.
TMCC’s Community Education
Drivers’ Education class, which costs $99, fulfills the 30-hour classroom
requirement. Parents are responsible for the 50 hours behind-the-wheel
requirement. These classes fill quickly. If the class you want is full, look
for another that has space available.

There’s still time to join your classmates. The 2017 presidential inauguration trip is scheduled
for January 2017, but you can still register, if you would like to attend this
once in a lifetime trip to Washington DC. If you are still interested in
attending or would like more information regarding the trip, you can see Mr.
Fournier in room M6. Mr. Fournier can provide you registration and
informational materials regarding the trip. He can also answer any
